RC1 Vol leveling a DRM procted file makes PC unusable

Post by JoergR »

when volume leveling a DRM procted file the PC becomes unusable which means I'm unable to start a program (e.g. IE) or shut-down the machine. I can play music in MM, that's all. Even Task Manager can't be started.

During this time the process for MM is runing.

When leaving the PC alone "long enough" (>10 minutes) MM comes back with the dialog "File ... cannot be decoded. it is possibly due to DRM restrictions".

This did not happen in previous builds when volume leveling the same files.

Are you trying to call Task Manager up by its keyboard shortcut or CAD?

Shift-Control-Escape is the direct shortcut to TaskMan.

Are these WMA DRM files, or any other format? Try to e-mail me a debug log...

Thanks,
