i doubly want Zune support asap, because i really cant stant the zune software any more. it pisses me off so much

if i add album art to an album thats already on the zune, it adds a duplicate album, but will only show theres one on the zune. only way to fix is to remove the album from the zune and resync. but if you remove something manually off the zune, it wont readd it on the next sync. and you cant tell it when to sync because it autosyncs when you plug it in. if you turn off auto sync then it wont let you sync unless you drag and drop specifically what you want synced (how about ... everything?)... jesus im about ready to break my zune in half

You can bet MediaMonkey will have Zune support - but it's currently only available in US. Wait until it's launched in Europe, then the support will come your way.

@Morten
I bet my 2 Cents on that, unless M$ keep it under its skirt for good.

The new Zunes (esp. the 80gig) look really nice IMHO. The only thing that would keep me from getting one would be the lack of MM support for the Zune.

Maybe it would be possible, until MM can support the Zune, to have MM auto sync a folder on the HDD with the media for the Zune. Then have the Zune software sync to that folder.

It's not as good as built in sync support, but would it work?

And I wonder how long it will take the hackers to figure out how to emulate the functionality need to do a WiFi sync of Zune (not necessarily through MM, but through a little Windows Service)

Need Zune Support

I would buy MM Gold if it supported Zune. I know at least 5 other people who would do the same.

Even though I don't have a zune (because it's not released in Canada yet) I want zune support added mainly because I think its a great mp3 player, I don't like ipods and hopefully the support will be ready for it by the time I get one. If there still isn't support for it yet, hopefully there will be enough people interested when it makes it to Canada and Europe that there will be support.

Hacking in progress....

First of all go to your device manager (right click my computer then properties then hardware tab). Find Zune and go in its properties goto detail and go to the Device Instance ID tab. Keep This open because you will need to know that tag.

Now open up your registry (start -> run -> regedit)

Then open the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
goto system -> CurrentControlSet -> Enum -> USB

Now this is where you need to go back to the Device Instance ID
look at the id and open the folder in the registry according to the id.

Then open the folder inside it

Now click on Device Parameters but don't open it you should see a list of strings and binaries

Double click on:
EnableDefaultAutoPlaySupport - and change Value Data to 1
PortableDeviceNameSpaceExcludeAutoPlayTab - change to 0
PortableDeviceNameSpaceExcludeFromShell - change to 0
ShowInShell - change to 1

And there you go now theres 2 new things in your My Computer named whatever you named your zune

When you open either of them up theres a drive in there called Storage
In mine there are 16 un-named files, 2 hidden files DevIcon.fil , DevLogo.fil, If youve ever received a file then theres the names of those zune's, and a WMPInfo.xml. 5 folders 2 hidden named

Hidden:
Albums
Playlists

Non-Hidden:
Music
Pictures
Video

Some files have a picture of a lock on them and some dont. You cant play or view anything or change anything. You can delete any files you want though.

If you want to open files all you need to do is start the zune software.

It's a start..
