Backup 6.0 - Updated 01/07/2014
When backing up with the script (newest verions), all goes well, but in the summary, it says "Error: Script component could not be installed". I do have Winzip installed and not sure why this is happening? Firewall issue? How can I correct this? I did notice that it actually didn't create the zip file. Guess I could just zip everything up myself as I assume that is all it is doing. Although it would be nice to let this does it's own thing. Suggestions Trix? Thanks much!
@cadmanmeg - this script uses the XZip component which comes with it. It tries to register it automatically but your OS might be blocking it. Try running "regsvr32 xzip.dll" in a command prompt.
@linn - by "no backup" do you mean that the menu item does not appear, or that when you click it nothing happens?

You haven't received any output because you haven't checked either of the output options!

I must have unticked it choosing a new output dir just before making the screenshot, stupidtrixmoto wrote:You haven't received any output because you haven't checked either of the output options!

But backup is definitely not working from MM ; output ticked ,but i just tried a few times selecting " backup at closing" this works ok .
so this is no problem anymore,
Thanks for your help .

Re: Backup 4.7
@Trixmotopopsmike wrote:While using Trixmoto's backup utility i found an error when trying to save as a zip file, the reason i found is that on line 433 of the code it is not sending the xzip.dll file to the windir. i am not much of a code writer but i ran it through a compiler to find the problem. If you could sort it out it would be most appreciated.
Keep up the good Work, there is some excellent progs out there.

Any news on the afore mentioned problem as it is still giving me problems.
A little help would be grateful.
Thanks.
Mike
Well I will fix it in the next version but you should be able to install this file yourself manually for the time being. You just need to put the "XZip.dll" somewhere sensible (the script goes for %windir%) and then pass that location into "regsvr32" to register it.

Make sure either you've run MM "as administator" or right-click on the installation package and select "run as administrator" from the menu.

Thank you, that resolved the installation isssue.
The installation now goes through smoothly with no errors.
Unfortunately do I now instead get an error when I try to run the backup script.
The error is "
Script: E:\Program files\Mediamonkey\scripts\ABackup2.vbs
Line: 71
Char: 7
Error: Permission denied
Code: 800A0046
Source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error
I get this error whether I run MM as admin or not, though logically you would have thought this was an admin issue.
Any more ideas

If you right click on this file and click properties, in there you should be able to select "run as administrator" as a default - this might give it the permission it needs.
