MM 3.0.3.1170 aka RC-6 - uncontrolled cpu use (95-100%)

Post by hernil »

I experience problems with MM version 3.0.3.1170, when listening to music cpu use often goes to 95-100% and doing other things on the machine is almost impossible (goes slowly). I'm not the only one that has this problem.

Running Windows XP (home) with MM version 3.0.3.1170 (gold).

I rolled back to 3.0.3.116 and it seems to be a lot more stable.

It seemed to lock uo when I played the last song in the curent selection. I wonder if the cause is linked to the last.fm autodj tool?

I haven't rolled back yet, because it has calmed down now, if it starts again I'll go back.

I have the last.fm node with DJ mode activated, so that may be the problem.

The only time last.fm nodes should spike the cpu is during track changes or when your accessing a last.fm node (during the query) and it should be brief and not really lag your computer at all.

Are you using auto-volume analysis or background auto-organize? If so, then either function make cause a bit of processing to spike until its done doing whatever needs to be done.

I'm using the auto organize function, but this happens not only at start or when adding music in the folder that is under surveillance, but pretty randomly when listening to music after some "up-time".
