Archos synchronisation

Post by AussieCol »

The Archos 504 (80 GB) is treated as a USB mass storage device. I keep my mp3s in folders such as "Early Rock", "Easy Listening", "Instrumentals", etc, etc. Is there a simple way to synchronise with MM and keep the tracks in their folders? I'm not familiar with scripting so any suggestions/assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, AussieCol

If your files have correct genre in Player Plugin (d_USBMass1.dll) Settings Sync mask you should put something like <Genre>\<Artist> - <Title> and you are all good to go.

Thanks for the tip. It sadly only placed the music tracks in folders as per the "genre". I store my tracks in folders that relate to the "origin" and these are then classified by genre to give me a few ways of playing the music. For example I have a folder "International Artists" so I can play all of these if I choose. Some, however will be "easy listening" genre and some will be "male vocal" genre and so on. I can then play by folder or by genre to suit my mood. Can this be done in auto synchronisation or am I asking too much? Currently I just merge the folders manually to copy any new tracks but auto-sync sounds better if it can be done.

Try just using <Path> in the "Sync tracks to:" box.

Thanks Nohitter, that seems to have done the trick. Now all I've got to do is find out why MM 3 has added extra album art to all my files and I'll be happy. Loved version 2 but while version 3 looks good on the face of it, it has done a couple of things I didn't expect. I'll check out the forum pages on album art.
