Magic Nodes 4.2 w/ 380 masks & real GUI (2011-07-01)[MM2+]
Re: Mod. Magic Nodes 1.7.7 w/ installer & 50 masks [MM2+3]
i thought you was already aware of right click on the library->options->choose tree options and use the up and down arrow for the single groups.
this only works for nodes in the first and second hierarchy. when you have created a node "artist" an definded it as "child of:library" you can only sort the nodes in there with the qualifier "position", cause they aren't displayed in the "tree node" options.

Re: Mod. Magic Nodes 1.7.7 w/ installer & 50 masks [MM2+3]
I was aware of it, but I forgot about it. Generally, I've never had a need to use it, so I didn't think of it. Also, my mind is still often stuck in MM2 mode as I only recently switched over the MM3. All is good now.Robokopi wrote:i thought you was already aware of right click on the library->options->choose tree options and use the up and down arrow for the single groups.

What do you mean by "library filters"? Both MM and MN filters could be applied in same time since v1.7.2. How looks your filter?cali wrote:I just realized that the library filters don't seem to work in the magic nodes.

Re: Mod. Magic Nodes 1.7.7 w/ installer & 50 masks [MM2+3]
I have two libraries. One of them is an external hard drive (P:) and the other one is my ipod (F:). The filter that I use the most ignores the ipod so only my hard drive is displayed on 'Library'.
I posted a screenshot. You can see how only P: is in Library, but when I expand one magic node, tracks from both drives are listed P: and F:.

Re: Mod. Magic Nodes 1.7.7 w/ installer & 50 masks [MM2+3]
I cannot see how looks your filter from this screenshot. You could post a screenshot of the dialog box which you get with File/Manage Filters/Configure. Or even better, you could load the script file (c:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Scripts\Auto\MagicNodes.vbs) into Notepad, remove the comment character (') from the begin of the line 3851 ('MsgBox SQLStatement), save modified file, collapse/expand main Magic Nodes branch and post a screenshot of the new dialog box which you would get when you expand some Magic node.cali wrote:I have two libraries.

Re: Mod. Magic Nodes 1.7.7 w/ installer & 50 masks [MM2+3]
Where oh where is the MagicNodes.mmip file? The zip file that is available will not open if I change the extension to .MMIP
Surely the mmip file lives somewhere...
Is there a workaround?
Thanks

The lastest version is here
http://solair.eunet.yu/~zvezdand/MagicNodes.htm
It is the same link as in the first post of this thread.
When you try to download the mmip file Internet Explorer try to change the file from mmip to zip. Choose save and then change to view all files and add ".mmip" to the filename or you can just use firefox or an other browser that works.

Re: Mod. Magic Nodes 1.7.7 w/ installer & 50 masks [MM2+3]
now i have a similar problem like someone above:
i created a group called "album" as a child of "library" and put there 3 devices into it. how can i determine their order? i have "LPs", EPs & Singles" and "Samplers". The current order is "Sampler/LPs/EPs" but i want to be shown it as "LPs/EPs/Samplers".
another question: i have problems in letting display the right counted thing.
it's okay that i see the tracks in the album as well as the number of albums into the trim-order. but i don't want all the tracks counted in the superior "LPs" order. There should be the count of all the albums. If i change the command to "items", it shows me 25, what are the alphebetical letters (trimed albums) plus one number. is there an order like "items of items"?

Re: Mod. Magic Nodes 1.7.7 w/ installer & 50 masks [MM2+3]
By default, the Magic Nodes script displays groups and nodes in the same order as they are entered. In most cases this means that their numeration in the MediaMonkey.ini file under CustomNodeMasks section is same as you enter new masks, but things are changing if you remove some masks. For example, if I have a mask1, mask2 and mask3 and if I remove mask2 - the next entered mask will be mask2 even it is entered after mask3. I mean on creating nodes through the MN dialog box, but if you re-order your masks in the MediaMonkey.ini file manually, you would get masks in the same order as it is their numeration. Of course, this is only by default, i.e. if you don't use changing of nodes position with a help of the Default View Option dialog box, but if you change nodes position with this dialog then it has a precedence.Robokopi wrote:The current order is "Sampler/LPs/EPs" but i want to be shown it as "LPs/EPs/Samplers".
Sorry, but currently this is not possible.Robokopi wrote:is there an order like "items of items"?

Re: Mod. Magic Nodes 1.7.7 w/ installer & 50 masks [MM2+3]
First of all thanks for all the help here so far (especially ZvezdanD) !
I require a script to modify the inbuilt "categorise by year" node. Currently this node functions as:
"Year"
-----Decade (e.g. 2000's)
----------------------------Year (e.g. 2008)
The year (e.g. 2008) is then the final part of this node, with all info showing in the details pane. I would like however, under the Year subnode, for it to list all albums by album artist, in the format:
"Year"
-----Decade
--------------Year [number of albums]
------------------------Album Artist - Album
Many thanks in advance !! Below is a link to a screenshot of my current setup, so you can see what a help you have been. I'm still looking for improved skins, but there's a complete paucity of quality skins for MM3 at the moment !

Re: Mod. Magic Nodes 1.7.7 w/ installer & 50 masks [MM2+3]
Dan, please don't get me wrong, but your questions was always so trivial. You should spend some time to read the PDF manual or to analise masks which are included with the script and I think you would find answers to many of your questions. I bet that you spent more time to write this post then you could spend on reading this manual. An answer to your question is so simple - only you should do is to add \<Album Artist with Album> to your existing mask.danhackley wrote:I would like however, under the Year subnode, for it to list all albums by album artist

I know dude but im lazy
You say to add \<Album Artist with Album> to my existing mask - but I have no existing mask. The year is a node which came with MM, not a magic node.
Thanks
Dan

Sorry, I thought you already have a mask with the first two node levels - decades and year, because several posts ago someone already asked for exactly same thing (http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 40#p159840):danhackley wrote:You say to add \<Album Artist with Album> to my existing mask - but I have no existing mask. Re: Mod. Magic Nodes 1.7.7 w/ installer & 50 masks [MM2+3]
I wasn't going to say anything but every time I see this post it just burns me. Language barrier aside, it's unduly harsh and uncalled for. Even though Dan apparently didn't take much offense at it, it's still not right to trivialize someone's questions or insult their intelligence.ZvezdanD wrote:Dan, please don't get me wrong, but your questions was always so trivial. I will shut up now.
