1188 works on new ipod touch FW 2.1 but no artwork
When i transfer songs with artwork in tags, artwork is not present on ipod.
When i browse the ipod content in MM, indeed the songs have no artwork set whereas they have one on my local hard drive.
The ratings are well transfered.
Settings Itunes :
[X] Manually manage music and videos
Settings MM :
[X] Copy artwork in song tag
(i'm translating from french, may not be exactly named like that)

Try without that setting, I have it unchecked and artwork makes it to my iPhone just fine.cosmokraymer wrote: Settings MM :

Same result here.
I'm thinking about a bad interaction between Itunes/MM.
Can reset the ipod via Itunes help ?
Can someone that owns the new ipod touch confirms that artwork can be displayed on the ipod ?
thanx

Artwork should definitely work without any problem. Try to clean your device (it should be enough to delete all tracks in MM) and then it should work fine.

Re: 1188 works on new ipod touch FW 2.1 but no artwork
I am also having this problem. I have tried both with and without the copy artwork to tag box checked, as well as clearing out my music and starting all over again. If I sync my music with iTunes, I have album artwork. Then when I do it in Media Monkey it clears out the music then syncs it with my media monkey library. When I turn my iTouch on I don't have any album artwork even for movies. I have also tried syncing my music with Media Monkey first and still no artwork.
I have sync'ed my iTouch a few times to try and fix this problem, but the very first time I synced my iTouch with 1188 I didn't have the option to delete tracks that aren't on the Auto-Sync list checked. I, of course, came up with all my tracksx2 but I had all my artwork for every track.
I own a iPod Touch 2g, 16GB, FM 2.1.1. So don't worry cosmokraymer, your not the only one. Hope this helps!

Re: 1188 works on new ipod touch FW 2.1 but no artwork
You should try to totally clear the device and sync with MM, not letting iTunes touch the device. Preferably you could remove all music from the itunes library so there's no chance it will interfere.Phoebe wrote:I am also having this problem. Re: 1188 works on new ipod touch FW 2.1 but no artwork
Alright I cleared everything. Not only the music from my iTouch but also Movies, Pictures, Applications, PodCasts...the whole works basically. I then made sure 'Manually Manage Music and Videos' was checked, removed all songs from my iTunes library, and closed iTunes. Then I diconnected my Touch, checked that everything had in fact been cleared on the Touch, and reconnected.
Then I opened MM and opened the Sync Options. Under the 'Auto-Sync list' Tab, I chose which location I wanted the music to come from, Under the 'Auto-Sync Options' Tab I only checked 'Delete Tracks that aren't on the Auto-Sync list from the device' and 'Confirm deletion (recommended)'. I didn't change anything in the 'Auto-Conversion' Tab and in the 'Device Configuration' Tab I checked the last two boxes, 'Use only the first Genre when multiple Genres exist' and 'Use only the first value when multiple Artist / Composers exist'. Clicked OK then clicked Sync. I disconnected my Touch as soon as it finished Sync'ing and checked, no album artwork.
Another thing that I would like to point out is I check a random song in my music folder on my computer and it has album artwork but if I check the same song in media monkey on my device no album artwork shows up even when I click Properties>>Album Art.

How is your art saved? (Tags or external files)
EDIT: Mine is all stored in tags and works fine on my iPhone 1st gen.

Re: 1188 works on new ipod touch FW 2.1 but no artwork
i store always in tag too
so still now, no owner of touch 2nd gen has testified to say that artworks are shown on the ipod, right?

Re: 1188 works on new ipod touch FW 2.1 but no artwork
I'm having the exact same problem with my Touch 2nd Gen. Music is transferring perfectly with MM, but no artwork unless I use iTunes.
Re: 1188 works on new ipod touch FW 2.1 but no artwork
I have the Touch 2G, and I also have the no artwork problem. My art is saved in the tags.
Also, if I sync all my music (which is more than will fit) with the sync random subset box check, it appears to sync, but the files take up space, but aren't recognized in the ipod.

Re: 1188 works on new ipod touch FW 2.1 but no artwork
It looks like the new Touch is somehow different (it's the only device I don't have for testing at this moment). However, I possibly have an idea, could you please check out what's the device USB ID? You can find it e.g. by going to Generic USB plug-in configuration and press Find Device button while your Touch is connected.
Thanks,
Jiri

Re: 1188 works on new ipod touch FW 2.1 but no artwork
I'm having artowrk problems after a sync as well.
Whilst browsing the Album View on my 1G iPod Touch with fw2.1 I have some artwork but against the wrong album, some artwork against the right album and some albums have no artwork at all.
System setup:
Vista 32bit Ultimate with SP1
iTunes version 8.0
Media Monkey 1188
iPod Touch 1st generation, restored to factory default and updated to fw 2.1
MM Library cleared and rescanned
Sync ~750 MP3 songs from MM library to iPod Touch using auto-sync from a playlist
Rebooted iPod Touch with no effect either
Any suggestions?

Is this what you want?
I'm not sure where the Generic USB plug-in configuration is so I went to the Device Manager and pulled up the Device Instance ID. I'm not sure if this is the same thing...
Just to note: docbobo said the artwork worked on his iTouch 1G FW 2.1.1. (http://mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=33435) So Paul's solution may be different. I am personally not seeing any artwork at all.
