This implies that the script does not have write permission to the folder you are attempting to create the report in. You'll either need to chose a location Vista is not so paranoid about or again run MM "as administrator".

Excellent script ! I have created a list using the frames option. Only question is - it has an alphabetical list of album artists, with "various artists" grouped under V. Is it possible to remove "various artists" from here and have it in the contents section instead ? Thanks !

The album should be listed both under "Various Artists" and also under each of the artist names on the album, I believe.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

Currently, compilations (albums with "album artist" listed as "various artists") appear under "various artists" in the V list. I want "various artists" to appear separately at the top, with the rest of the alphabetical list (A, B, C, D....Z, Various Artists).

Ideally, in the top left frame, I would like artists from A to Z, and then below that compilations from A to Z. For example if you clicked on "D" under the compilations menu, then all compilations where album begins with letter D will apear in main frame.

Well this would complicate the way the script currently works greatly, but I'll certainly take a look and see if it's possible and try and get it into the next version.

Thanks a lot! At the moment, I have edited the HTML to put various artists up with the rest of the contents. I have split various artists into A-J, K-R and S-Z, though it would be preferable to have the whole alphabet. Too much work to do manually though !

I can filter to create my reports, but is there some way to take the "selected albums" as the criteria for a report?

Many times I select what I want, then say "advanced report", but of course then it grabs everything (based on the filter), not what I selected.

No, this is not possible because it builds everything using SQL. There's no SQL for "everything selected" unless I build a list of IDs and I think that would be extremely slow. You could put all the ones you want into a playlist though and create a filter based on that playlist.

Hi Trix:

I can't figure out how to customize these reports.

I can't find the Advanced Report anywhere in my MM3. Where can I find it?

Currently when I create a report, if an artist is in an album AT ALL, the album is listed as belonging to them - "Forrest Gump" is under Joan Baez.

Sure, it's 'right', but is there a checkbox or something to only put albums under album artists, rather than albums under artists?

I thought "only include album artists" would do that, but it still puts an album under them if they are an artist in that album.

No, there's currently no option to do this, although I could look at adding one.

Well, there is no harm in having it as an option. Can never have too many options :)

One reason I'd like this is to be able to have a report containing all of my albums - but uniquely - when using artist, you get duplicates on any album that has multiple artists.

hey trixmoto,

do you plan to embed an option for sorting the report by fields?
i would like to use the genereted scripts for printing my library,
so it would be nice to sort the list for expamle by genre.

thanks in advance
