Last.fm Scrobbler 1.0.2.8 Password issue [NAB]

Post by nerdleetomgz »

When I try to put my personal data on the Last.fm plugin It gives me the first 2 error messeges, then when I click OK to exit the Options menu I get the other 2 error messeges.

I'm not sure about what's causing this issue. I hope someone can give me a solution, this is the only problem that's keeping me from using MM...

Thanks in advance.

The newer builds of the scrobbler are only compatible with the newer 3.1 Beta Builds. If you try to use one of the newer builds of the scrobbler with a 3.0 version, or the earlier 3.1 Beta Builds, it'll throw this error. Either upgrade MediaMonkey to a compatible Beta Build, or downgrade to the MM3.0 Scrobbler (which doesn't really work anymore I don't think), or simply wait for the two to exit the Beta status.

Mizery_Made is right you will need MM 3.1.0.1194+ to Start plugin but I suggest that you at least use 3.1.0.1218+ due to some more recent bugfixes in both plugin and MM.

Don't know if there's a problem on using this thread for a doubt of mine, but I'll try.

Well, I type my user and password, but looks like the Extension doesn't record it, because, after I press OK and reopen the menu, the fields are blank; and, the scrobbling isn't working.

I'm using the last versions of the plugin and of MM, any idea..?

Did you restart MediaMonkey after installing last.fm?

Ok, I reinstalled everything and now it's working fine.

The only thing that's left is the Gen_Msn, the Now Playing plugin that, even using the last version of it, doesn't recognize japanese characters.

Windows - Showing Japanese Characters;
MediaMonkey Beta - Showing Japanese Characters;
Last.fm Plugin Beta - Showing Japanese Characters;
Gen_MSN Plugin 3.x (Last Version) - NOT Showing Japanese Characters;

Can it be solved here or it isn't the right place?

WOW. FINALLY I'm able to show everything properly!

If anybody is interested to know the actual configuration, here it goes:

MediaMonkey 3.1.0.1218 with Last.fm Scrobbler v.1.0.2.7
Last.fm 1.5.2.38918 (Don't know if it's really necessary to have it)
MSN Live Messenger 8.5
Messenger Plus! 4.70.0.334 with Now Playing 1.3.4 Script
Windows XP with support to supplementar languages

Thanks for all the help!

FYI, Last.fm client is not needed to scrobble tracks.

I'm using MM 3.1.0.1216
and Last.fm_Scrobbler 1.0.2.12

These are the most up to date versions of each, as far as I've seen, and I'm having a similar problem. Scrobbling works, except that I get this error in the log:
2/18/2009 1:14:06 AM: Last.FM: Handshake Bad username and/or password

After editing the username and password fields, they reset themselves by the time I get back into the options menu. I've downgraded and upgraded, uninstalled and reinstalled both MM and the scrobbler, with no luck. I have a feeling the password and username are stored somewhere on the system, and the scrobbler doesn't allow me to update this?
