First track of the album's comments get truncated

I did a search and found one post that was old that had the same problem but no reply. I'm having a problem with comments, the first track's comments get shortened. Maybe to the ID3v1 length, I'm not sure I haven't counted. It's not every album I add long comments to though, just every once in awhile. It's really beginning to bug me. Here's some screenshots of what I mean.

I've tried switching the options to update ID3v2 tags only to no avail. It's annoying because sometimes I go back to fix it and it'll just do it again even after I fix it once. It seems like it's almost always the first track, but once or twice out of the hundreds of albums I've had this problem it's been a middle track.

this is interesting as the symptoms appear to be the same as for the lyrics truncation issue. so you can use this similar magic nodes mask to find them.

i do have many long comments but have not used mediamonkey to add them though still found 29 files with the problem, looking at the files in mp3tag shows the comment tag is actually shortened from what it used to be. have no idea yet as to when this happened or even if mediamonkey is the reason for them, but the similar trimmed length might be a clue.

in about 1/2 the case it was the first track affected, the other half was various tracks. have deleted all problem comments and will keep an eye on it with the magic nodes mask to see if/when it returns

Thanks for the magic nodes mask, though my Magic Nodes seem to have broken since the most recent update of MM, but I haven't put much time into getting it to work again. I thought it might be due to using a NAS as well, with much slower read/write times with a combination of files being locked for ID3v2 tag writing while the ID3v1is being written as I've had the same problem using The Godfather with my NAS. Would something like that show up in the MM logs?

Also, is there a workaround for the lyrics? I thought about turning the a "Update Tags when editing Properties" as I don't have a problem doing a Ctrl+S to sync the album when I'm done tagging it , but it has to work 100% of the time to bother.

I wanted to post an update to this, as I've found that album art (embedded in the tag) gets this same sort of random treatment. As an example I just tagged 500+ or so albums, and 53 tracks from those albums don't get embedded in the tag, as shown in the "Inconsistent album art" node under Files to edit. So I go and make the album art consistent, and the comments on a random subset of those tracks get truncated again. Then I go and fix the comments and a smaller set of album art gets removed from the tags, and on and on until I'm finally down to one album.

What's the deal with this? I don't want to have to edit a particular album 10 times just to get the tags the way they should be. It's quickly made MediaMonkey completely unusable for tagging, and I'm just a bit frustrated.

What version are you using? I'm not sure, but I believe that this bug was fixed in one of the latest releases.

I'm using 3.1.1.1261. I'm glad to hear it's fixed in 1266, but I've grown weary of beta testing things, and will wait for the full release.

Just to be clear, that is for my album art issue as well? I see tickets for the lyrics and comments 5377 and 5344, but I don't see anything that relates to album art tagging except for album art view related in 5377.

Maybe it was my error, but I don't think so. It's hard to miss one track when adding album art 53 times. Ok, you got me, I'm going to go grab the beta and tag a bunch of stuff to see if it still happens.
