iPhone 3.1 firmware support
I have just uploaded the first testing version of the plug-in that works with the latest iPhone/Touch firmware. Check it out at http://www.mediamonkey.com/beta/d_iPhone.dll . Copy it to the latest beta installation only, otherwise it wouldn't work! You can get that here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 45#p221799
I'm currently not aware of any limitation of this plug-in, so feel free to post your tests results here.

Reason: Unstickying topic, latest beta version 3.1.2.1267 has this plugin already.

Re: iPhone 3.1 firmware support
Thank you so much. Works, almost, like a charm. I now have 2 ipod device. One synchronizable, one not. Thanx - just started this yesterday and found out I had to wait till a solution for OS 3.1 iphones. The wait already is over :>
Peace!

PS: removing old dll does not remove non-compatible device in MM...

Re: iPhone 3.1 firmware support
Using v3.1.2.1266 and the updated d_iPhone.dll with my 2G Touch w/3.1 firmware still doesn't work. Instead of the incompatible device error, it shows up as "iPod Touch" instead of as its name and the list of music files on the device is blank, although it is reporting the correct amount of remaining disk space.
Re: iPhone 3.1 firmware support
Will try it tonight, thanks!
Re: iPhone 3.1 firmware support
Jiri,
This seems the more correct thread. Thanks for the fast turnaround. That's what I'm talking about.
Confirmed:
itunes 8
MM beta 1266
iphone OS 3.1
iphone 3G
d_iphone.dll 764kb 9/16/09 release
WORKS
...and just to be thorough it IS backward compatible with 3G's and 3GS's running iphone OS 3.0.
We are NOT UPDATING to iphone OS 3.1 on our other devices or itunes 9 until jailbreak compatibility questions are clear.
If there is anyone who has not jailbroke, I highly recommend it.
There is no way I could go back to standard Apple Apps only...the ability to run programs in the background with "Backgrounder" alone is critical and worth the "geeky" drama of getting it installed. Nothing in the Apple releases justifies losing current jailbreak capabilities.
Wish the community of Apple product users were as "independant minded" and PC users....Vista sucked, no one implemented it, MSFT fixed things and built Windows 7.
Problem is the leverage is though...the devices are undeniably superior, and we want them, so with their current business model they have us hostage. Support the jailbreak community and independants like MM and possibly- once the devices become commoditized- that will hit them in the pocketbook enough for them to pay attention.
Thanks again Jiri.

Re: iPhone 3.1 firmware support
I seemed to have some issues, but as I've only had an 1 phone for 3 days I'm not sure if it is the driver or the configuration in iTunes.
I'm using iPhone 32 gb 3gs running 3.1 and iTunes 9.
In iTunes I have I will manage my music manually checked, and music, podcasts, videos, and radio unchecked on their respective pages.
MM synced fine, transferred the music with no issue, but when I opened iTunes again my phone was completely full (My collection is almost 20gb so I should have had about 9 gb free or so) and iTunes reported all 30 gb used by 'other'. I didn't even have enough space to update an update (flixster).
Again, I'm not sure where the issue could be, but one of the reasons I decided to go with the iPhone was to use MM, which is the best!

Re: iPhone 3.1 firmware support
Confirmed working in Vista 64 and transferred successfully to iPhone with latest 3.1. As a result I just bought a gold license 5 minutes ago. Cheers!
Re: iPhone 3.1 firmware support
Nice, its been about a week since I come to the board and glad to see we have a working solution for OS3.1 now I can upgrade my iphone I was holding out for this!
Re: iPhone 3.1 firmware support
I uploaded the lastest beta testing and was able to copy music to my 3.0 Iphone, (thanks by the way). Then I copy the new .dll file to my plugin folder in order put music on my dad's 3.1 iphone and it's saying I have a compatability error.
Did I do something wrong?

Re: iPhone 3.1 firmware support
This sounds suspiciously like the conflict situation that I used to have when running iTunes and MM alongside each other. What has happened is that the index information of your MM download music has been 'lost' by iTunes at some time. The orphaned mp3 files are still occoupying space but you can't get to them by iTunes or MM. On my jailbroken phone I ran a script to delete these files to recover the occoupied space. On a non-jailbroken phone then you can restore to a backup (I think).sifuhall wrote:I seemed to have some issues, but as I've only had an 1 phone for 3 days I'm not sure if it is the driver or the configuration in iTunes.

There are some detailed notes somewhere in the forums about how to get these to reliably coexist together. I have looked briefly but can't find then at this moment.

Re: iPhone 3.1 firmware support
MediaMonkey build 1267
iTunes 9.0
iPod touch 3G
MM can see the device and all the songs stored on the device. However, MM does not remember the device, so every time I plug it in, MM will add a new one. Thus, no Automatic Synchronization is possible. Also, MM messes up the art: I had some albums uploaded via iTunes9; after uploading _other_ songs via MM art got corrupted for both kinds.
BTW, it does not recognize even iPod Touch 1G which was working fine before.
Any suggestions?
