Just a follow up to my previous post in this thread.

It was a configuration issue.

Everything seems to be working well.

Thanks for such a great product!

Confirmed that it works with me!

Windows7 Beta (Build 7100)
1.73 Ghz Core 2 Duo
iTunes 9 (horrible thing)
iPod touch first gen with OS 3.1

My only gripe is that it takes a good while to sync when auto converting songs from FLAC.

Argh! Why doesn't it work for me then? :o
Does MM transfer art as well? Did you have to change any options from defaults to make it work? Do you use auto-synchronize, or do you copy the music manually?
Please advise!

Doesn't seem to be working for me, the iPod shows up alright and it reports the free space correctly but I can't see any of the iPod's contents and it just shows as iPod touch (no name or anything)...

It's working for me. I have a 32gb 2g touch with firmware 3.1 and still have iTunes 8.2. I first deleted all the music using iTunes and then synched using MM 1267 and it worked great! iTunes didn't always get all the album art right, but so far MM does.

With 3.0 firmware and the beta dll file, I could synch one time to an empty ipod, but if any file got deleted from the touch, then the touch thought it was empty. I have been through a "re-synch" and all the music is still there!

32 gb touch 2g, 3.1 fw
iTunes 8.2
MM 1267
Windows XP

Thanks!

To those of you that can't see your existing music on the iPod even w/this updated DLL... Try simply deleting it (thru iTunes) and re-syncing it (thru MM). As the above poster mentioned, that should work just fine. My mistake was I tried attempting a sync before deleting the existing files, which you shouldn't do 'cuz it'll just cause a mess... All my pre-existing music/video/podcats on the device are now there but listed as 'Other' and I can't delete it neither thru iTunes nor MM, restoring a backup in iTunes didn't help matters either as it's still showing the same symptoms even tho the backup was performed before I sync'd w/MM, weird.

Yeah, I figured wiping the iPod in iTunes and recopying everything in MM would work, but doing that would be a complete pain in the ass, plus I'd lose the play count information, so I was waiting to see if a new version of MM would make my Touch play nice again.

With the play count info I can't help ya... But I dunno where the pain in the ass would be in wiping existing stuff from the iPod, you don't have to restore it back to defaults, just wipe the existing music... Unless you've got a 16GB+ collection of manually culled/sync'd song selections I can't imagine it'd be too hard to simply tell MM to re-sync after wiping it. :p

Bingo. I don't really use playlists, I just add and delete stuff manually from the Touch on pretty much a daily basis. About 26GB was on there. I've got a bunch of new albums I want to listen to, though, so I went ahead and blew it all away this afternoon anyway. Working great now : )

Hehe, 'least it worked out fine for ya... I was managing my collection manually at first but then got tired of it (even tho it's not very large) and started using some of MM's sync tools... Now I have smart playlist of recently added stuff (last two months) that's automatically sync'd, along with my favorite albums (set under the sync options), and I'm working making a couple other playlists, but just having my favorite albums/artists marked to be always sync'd along with that one playlist has worked well lately.

Yeah, in view of the fact that I'm about to upgrade to a 64GB Touch, I think it's time to take a page from your book and employ smart playlists and auto-syncing.

I should also say I'm impressed with the speed of MM's dev team, posting a fix for the new firmware. Excellent work!

using smart playlists to sync and select music for the ipod makes heaps of sense - except that the metadata you're using to update lists etc depends on the ipod being detected by MM - I've taken the wipe an start again approach that others have suggested, it works fine for a week or so, then something unspecified/unknown happens and MM won't detect the ipod again and I'm back to square one. Having to wipe and reinstall even 16 gig of music at random times is kinda a pain, specially when you're on your way to work.

really hanging out for a reliable fix to this, rather than whats really a pretty crude work around.

I had the newest Beta of MM, an Ipod Touch FW 3.1.1, Vista Ultimade 64bit and Itunes 9.

First i had Update my Touch an had reset it completly.
MM sync all song very good.
No Problems Cover Arts, lyrics all works fine.
Yesterday i had sync my apps new and now the Touch say somethink like Libray Updatet. Please wait a few Minutes. (I had the message in German)
This screen will close after 5-10 seconds and thats it.
