Re: Backup 5.2 [MM2+3]
I am having an issue with a VBS runtime error of file ABackup2.vbs. It is 800A0005, line 351 char 9.
I am running Win 7 32-bit. This is the first time I have tried the Backup script. I think it's an AWESOME script if I can get it to work. It seems like it happens right when it is going to zip up the archive. THanks for any help!

Does the folder exist where you have the archive set to save to??

OMG nevermind. I can't believe it was just a typing error in the directory tree. Worked like a charm!!!
Re: Backup 5.2 [MM2+3]
I hope im not asking for much but i just wanted to know if u could add a backup rotation feature like in mozilla firefox with its bookmarks backups. And also give the user an option to specify how many days the rotation should consist of. I really love mediamonkey and enjoy watching it develop and jus want to give a shout out to the MM team for making such an incredible piece of software and also to the script writers and the whole of the mediamonkey community. Thanks in advance.

This is on my list for the next version. The only reason this didn't get put into the current version was that a database table would be needed, and the last version came out during beta phases (if I remember correctly) during which the database structure was changing.

Re: Backup 5.2 [MM2+3]
I can't tell you how much I appreciate this script. It would be in the Top 3 if I had a list of Most Valuable Scripts.
Thank you!
There is only one feature that I feel is missing. I would like to be able to specify that only a certain number of archives are kept. As it is now, I just go in and delete any archives that are really old. But it would be great if I could configure the Backup script to delete any archives in excess of 10 archives and/or older than 1 month.
But really, I love this script. Thanks.

Re: Backup 5.2 [MM2+3]
Since yo mentioned you were a control freak and now you want auto removal I am surprised, this is one thing that I prefer to remain in my control. But here I keep the first and last of every month for several months and also the previous months archives until the next month is halfway through. But then that is just me...
This would be a nice addition although I would never use it.

Re: Backup 5.2 [MM2+3]
I can see your point. I usually just keep about one month worth of backup archives. Even then, I feel like I am saving them unnecessarily.
But I like your idea of keeping the first and last of every month. I may start doing that.
But I still think the auto-delete of specified archives would be a neat feature.

Re: Backup 5.2 [MM2+3]
I do have plans to store archive locations in the database - this will allow the script to control how many files are kept and for how long. I'll try to make it as flexible as possible.

Re: Backup 5.2 [MM2+3]
Hi, I am using MM3 with the Backup 5.2 script. When I close MM though, for some reason the follow error message appears:
Backup cancelled because output folder already exists.
Just wondering if anyone knows what this means and how I can rectify it? Also, I'm not even sure if this program is backing up my settings. Any help would be appreciaited.
I am using W7 too.
Cheers.

Re: Backup 5.2 [MM2+3]
You should really be asking this in the appropriate thread, rather than creating a new one. However, the reason for the error is that you have not ticked either the "cleanup output path" (which will delete the contents of this folder before starting a new backup) or "overwrite existing" (which will overwrite the existing backup) options.

Re: Backup 5.2 [MM2+3]
Hi Trix, no worries. I posted a new thread just before seeing this one.
I checked the script and the Cleanup Output Path was checked but not the Overwrite Previous backup. I checked it and the program seems to be working with both boxes checked.
One curious question: the Output Archive is checked, showing C:MediaMonkey.zip. I tried to find this zip file under my C drive but was unable to locate it with that path. Just wondering eaxctly what that file is and where it might actually be hdden. I was just wanting to change it's path to my D drive that's all.
Thanks Trix.
Cheers.
