You are completely right, this is something that is not expected from MM. We would be very glad to get bottom of this and make your life easier.

Hmmmm... Still no go. I did yet another uninstall, reinstall, and ran the installer as administrator.
The only way I can get MM to run in full skinning mode is to "Run as Administrator". MM is the only program which I have this problem.
I really don't know where to go from here.

Can't imagine why you have this problem, in the past 2 years I have not had that issue in either Windows Vista or Windows 7. In any event, you can set MM to launch as admin every time by right clicking the MM icon -> Properties, Compatibility tab > Check "Run as administrator"PRGeno wrote:Hmmmm... Still no go. Or of course you could just disable the UAC.

Re: "MediaMonkey - Audio Library has stopped working" error!
I've been running MM on Vista for a couple years, without issue. This is the first time I've every had this type of problem.
I already have MM set to run as admin in the compatiblity tab. That doesn't help when MM runs when called by Autoplay however. But I usually disable most Autoplay functions.
So this is more of an inconvenience than anything else, but I am still curious why MM is the only thing causing this problem.

Re: "MediaMonkey - Audio Library has stopped working" error!
I concur - This exact same problem started for me yesterday, and THIS was the fix! However, after finding that this fix worked, I know exactly what *I* did to cause the initial error.nikfm wrote:yes!!
looks like it was the d_iphone.dll file that was messing with things.
Thanks for the help!!
Yesterday - as part of my ongoing move into this laptop - I completely UNinstalled Quicktime from my system (I don't have an iphone, don't have - or plan to use - itunes) because A) I think it has become an overbloated space and resource hog and B) I don't want to be offered itunes - or have to click through 10 pages of menu options, or have an additional auto-updater to get rid of, all I want to do is watch the occasional proprietary video file!
So I completely removed it and installed QT_Lite instead, which is a fast, lean, small program which "...is a trimmed down version of QuickTime that contains only the essential components needed for playing QuickTime content that is embedded in web pages." (I'm not associated with the prog and won't be giving any links).
MediaMonkey 3.1.1 (Gold) is running flawlessly again.
QUESTION: Before I install MM3.2 (and again, no iphone, no itunes) is it critically dependent on Quicktime? Will I be able to run this same fix on 3.2?
Re: "MediaMonkey - Audio Library has stopped working" error!
Yes, you can run MediaMonkey with just QTLite. You might or might not have to rename d_iphone.dll again.

This worked for me. Thanks a bunch.Lowlander wrote:If version 3.2 has the same error try renaming d_iphone.dll to d_iphone.dll.off in Program Files/MediaMonkey/Plugins.
Re: "MediaMonkey - Audio Library has stopped working" error!
Unfortunately this didn't work for me. Still crashes unless I run as Administrator.
Re: "MediaMonkey - Audio Library has stopped working" error!
I do have this issue too!
From one day to another MediaMonkey stopped working "MediaMonkey - Audio Library has stopped working" - running with administrator privilegs would do the workaround. Seems to be an issue for more users - i found some more threads here about this strange error....
hmm.. any ideas?

@tonydl
Did you try renaming d_iphone.dll to d_iphone.dll.off in the Program Files/MediaMonkey/Plugins folder like many threads suggest?

While that may work for some, it has also been repeatedly stated that it hasn't worked for all.Lowlander wrote:@tonydl

That workaround doesn't work in my instance. This also isn't an intermittent problem. It happens every single time I launch MM, unless it is run as administrator. This never happend in previous releases, only the latest.

Yes I already tried that - it doesn't work - but thanks anyway @Lowlander.
I deleted every single file or folder related to MediaMonkey (including Program Folder and Appdata) and tried a reinstall - the same problem occurs. Afterwards I deleted all registry entires containg MediaMonkey - still I can only start MediaMonkey as administrator
I don't know what to do now - it's a fresh installation and it worked like a charm 2 weeks ago...
Edit: Windows 7 64Bit here, too!
Edit2: I can get it to work with checking "Override Skin theme wih Windows System theme (requires restart)" in Design settings - but it's ugly now
Changing the language won't help btw (I did that to know how this option is called in english

Re: "MediaMonkey - Audio Library has stopped working" error!
If it runs Ok when you run it as Admin, than there is some restriction applied on "MediaMonkey.exe" and not "mediamonkey (non-skinned).exe" as you pointed it works OK try to reinstall MediaMonkey on top of Old one using Run as administrator on Installation file.

Re: "MediaMonkey - Audio Library has stopped working" error!
The installer asks me automatically for admin rights (via UAC - it could not get installed to Program Files if it wouldn't because you need admin rights to install here) - so I did that already. But I tried again manually - doesn't help. I also tried another folder which doesn't ask for administrator rights (D:/MediaMonkey/) - it's not working either.
