Syncing with Palm Pre?

Re: Syncing with Palm Pre?
I installed Mediamonkey and successfully synchronized my GSM Palm Pre with it, but I dont get any album artwork. Why is that? Everything else works fine
My PalmPre is in Mediasync mode. If I change to USB mode I get all album artwork synced, but I don't have my playlists...Is there a solution for this issue? Thanks in advance!

Re: Syncing with Palm Pre?
I do not understand how this works, my pre is missing Album Artwork, do you still have to have itunes installed for Media Monkey to work properly to sync with my Palm Pre..I have found no deatailed "how To's in Support" for Palm Prepalmcrash wrote:Hallelujah, MediaMonkey 3.2 to the rescue! Finally, music AND playlists (even auto-playlists) sync perfectly now from MM to Pre via Media-Sync mode (shows iPod icon, but says Palm's "Nova" code-name). A bit long in coming, but thanks devs!! Gold membership's been worth every penny!
On a side note, what's with iTunes/iPod using such non-sensical directory/filename layout (F01-F49 directories with truncated filenames)? I hate this Apple proprietary @#$%. Palm should just use MTP mode like every other non-Apple music player already.
Re: Syncing with Palm Pre?
Hi,
One user found that if you elect not to create an iPod File structure (using the iPod plugin), then the album art syncs correctly (Tools > Options > Device > Device Configuration > Force iTunes-style folders).

Re: Syncing with Palm Pre?
That user must have been me
Yes, it works but playlists do not sync correctly. I cannot understand this behaviour...I have 7 Playlists but only 4 of them appear on the Pre and even these do not show the correct number of songs...
At least Artwork works...

Re: Syncing with Palm Pre?
Small Q: If you disable iPod folder structure in Pre Device Settings do you get album art correctly?

Re: Syncing with Palm Pre?
If someone has a Pal Pre and your Album Art is Transferring please send me your settings and which plug in you choose, mine says Novacomm..
But my Album Art is not there when I go to Music in my pre..I used the USB mode and I see where Media Monkey is making the Itunes Folder and all the music is there, just no art shows up.
thanks

Re: Syncing with Palm Pre?
I am using the ipod dll for syncing. I have enabled tagging of music with album art and I have disabled the iTunes folder structure. I have also configured the sync path (Drive Name:\Music\Album Artist\Album Name)

And you get the Album Covers on your Pal Pre?petvas wrote:I am using the ipod dll for syncing. I have enabled tagging of music with album art and I have disabled the iTunes folder structure. I have also configured the sync path (Drive Name:\Music\Album Artist\Album Name)
Re: Syncing with Palm Pre?
yes. If I turn the ipod file structure on, then the album art disappears!
Re: Syncing with Palm Pre?
Here's what i've found with my pre... make a choice... either playlists or album art... if you use the ipod plugin and force itunes style folders then playlists work... if you use sensible folder structures and filenames album art works... i thought i got both to work before, but it was a major pain in the ass and i had to use a weird plug in on winamp... and winamp wouldn't even recognize half my album art so it was pointless...

Re: Syncing with Palm Pre?
Just so everyone's aware, J River Media Jukebox syncs BOTH album art AND playlists if you use Media Sync. Unfortunately, this forces you to use the idiotic iTunes file structure.
WebOS still does not recognize playlists (.m3u, .pls) in USB Mode, but album art will show appropriately.

Re: Syncing with Palm Pre?
Is there any news regarding Mediamonkey and the Palm Pre? I would love to have playlists AND album art on my device...
