I tried this but no images came up and I did not see a way to browse the PC. Do the files have to be in a specific directory? I am running on XP Pro with firewall and anti-virus active while I do this.

Thanks for your assistance.

You have to use the button to add folders which are scanned if I remember rightly, or maybe add a file mask, it's been a while since I wrote that and I've not got MM on this machine, sorry.
Download my scripts at my own MediaMonkey fansite.

Humm I don't see any buttons to do that. The only place I see the File Mask under options is the path to save the image file when found. Would screenshots help? I can post some.

Thanks,
Jeff

Found out how to set the path for local source
first chose local source then click the "\/" button to the left of it, and a new panel will show up underneath. Under Search folders, click the button under and browse to the directory with the image files. (if theres more folders click the more button and add them too)
(when your done make sure you click the "/\" to hide the panel.

So I tried out this script today. I have two very fundamental problems.
1. As soon as the covers for all the albums are found, all covers are wiped and the search starts anew... into infinity. This means that the covers are constantly changing and I cannot choose anything etc.
2. When I click on save, MediaMonkey will work a little bit, but ultimately nothing changes. The files still have no covers, be it in MediaMonkey or in Mp3tag or in Windows explorer.

This is how my options panel looks:

Also, I cannot find a guide or FAQ or something for this script although it seems to be very well-known and well-liked by the community. It is rather unintuitive, so it would be nice to have one.

It does loop through and if an image does not fit the dimension settings then it is cleared and the search for the next image is done automatically. It is strange with such a large range (200-9999) that they would be outside this range, so something must be going wrong.

What about the script is unintuitive? I haven't written a guide because I can't think of anything extra to write. It batch downloads album art and there are lots of settings, mostly all requested by users over the lifetime of the script.

I tried out some other dimension settings today, nothing worked better, and when I reentered the above settings, I only got "no results". Which is weird, maybe it helps to find the problem.

A link to a general explanation how to install a script in the first post of this thread would be nice. Also, something that tells you that you should look at the settings before first use.

You install the script my double clicking on the installation package, as described in the FAQ. It might just be me, but I always make sure something is configured the way I want it to run before I run it.

Yellowsoul, try to remove the min/max height/width and try searching again. I've noticed ever since Google changed their search page recently to their (bloated-browser crashing) new format the BAF tends to pick up mostly images under 200x200 on many albums.

Seems like a sweet script if I could get it to work with Google...
I was getting the infinite looping on Google until I removed the minimum size and left the maximum at 9999 and unchecked set display size.

Now though, I'm getting this when I try to save even the small preview art I'm getting:

Error # 424 - MS VBS runtime error
Object required:'queue'
file: "c:program files\mediamonkey\scripts\auto\batchartfinder.vbs",line:2118,column:12

was running script on songs from one album only... no idea why it doesn't find the queue

Any ideas?

Broken?

Post by RingReaver »

The script seems to be broken, did a Win7 patch break it, or is it just me?

It's working for me, but then I'm on Vista. Can you be any more specific?

I have the same problem again, as mentioned before.
Passes over a vaiety of "sqigglydick" small image sizes and then cannot find a google image that meets my basic BF configuration
This must be some sort of MM registry thing.
Last time I made a MM version upgrade (the recent minor one) and that re-install reset something related to this.
BF worked again.
Since then some sort of registry change (I assume) has occured and the problem has returned.
