No, I was just following your instructions but couldn't find out how to disable the bass; I still get the transition problem. I'm not sure whether this is fixable given the tools here. I can play around with the buffers in the waveout plugin but it never results in a good transition. (I said it was fixed before because it looked that way but I think the prev track was still in the buffer.)

You can use the DeFX DSP plugin (see the MM options) or install any of a million different DSP plugins. Here are some at the MM addons site:

And you can also google for Winamp DSP plugins since they are compatible with MM.

I'll have to research this and try a few out.

Have you tried to apply lower bass in Audio Drivers?

Turning off the equalizer doesn't really help so it's not necessary to use driver software.
