Hello
I have installed the latest beta version of MediaMonkey as I am using an iPhone 3Gs with OS 4.01
I have also gone through the description on how to disable music syncing from iTunes.
However, after I have synced my iPhone with MediaMonkey I connect to iTunes to sync my applications, make a backup and check for firmware upgrades.
I was suprised when I got a message on screen from iTunes saying that my phone was not recognised and I was asked to do a factory reset for my phone and restore with backup copy.
Is this normal ??
is it NOT possible to use MediaMonkey for music syncing and iTunes for application, mail and backup ??
Thanks.

No I havent done that yet.
I thought maybe it was a bug in the beta software but I will try that and connect to mediamonkey again and see if I can switch between those two softwares then...
Thanks.,

The same thing happened to me; I deleted all my media (did NOT do a factory restore) and reloaded from MM, and iTunes was happy once again when I went back to iTunes. Try that.

Re: MediaMonkey sync makes my iPhone not detected in iTunes
Wow... This worked for me. I just went in to MediaMonkey, selected all songs on the iPhone and hit delete. Then, when I reconnected to iTunes, it was visible again. Whew!!
However, the reason this problem happened in the first place was that someone called while I was syncing a bunch of tunes from MM, after I had already pushed 2GB onto the phone, and it cut off the transfer. When the iPhone became visible again, iTunes said I was missing that 2GB of space (it was all showing up under Other).
After frantic googling, I finally discovered DiskAid (http://www.digidna.net/products/diskaid/download). It basically lets you view your iPhone (or iPod) as a drive. I just went in, deleted all the songs (which were in there, under iTunes_Control/Music, but apparently hadn't been registered to the database or something), and suddenly had my 2GB of space back.
I'm breathing MUCH easier now!!!!
It would be nice if Apple had such a utility of their own, but you know how much they hate us users "going behind the scenes". Anyway, thank god for third-party developers.
All of which leads me to my final point: can't MediaMonkey 'register' (or whatever it's called) each song as it's synced, instead of waiting until they're all done? It's courting disaster (as evidenced by my predicament), particularly since you can never tell when someone is going to call you.
So I guess the lesson for the day is to play it safe: set your iPhone to airplane mode before syncing large amounts of files.

Re: MediaMonkey sync makes my iPhone not detected in iTunes
Hi again,
The same thing happened again here. The phone is not recognized in iTunes anymore.
It might be because of someone called during the syncing of music because that happened once here.
However I think that is not the right way to do it to put the phone on airmode during syncing with MM.
That tells me that there is someting wrong somewere.
I cant see I have had the same problem when syncing on iTunes and someone calls.
If this is the case with MM, I would say its very dissapointing.
Anyone know is this is only happening on the beta version or if it has been like this also before ?

Nothing yet to solve this sync problem!?
Re: MediaMonkey sync makes my iPhone not detected in iTunes
Hi,
I'm having an issue that seems to have happened recently. I haven't upgraded MM and am on the latest version of MM 3.
I am syncing my iphone 4 and MM completes the sync perfectly. But on my phone, I only see music that was there before the sync minus the songs that have been removed as part of the sync.
Am I missing something fundamental or have changed something I shouldn't have?
Thanks,

Can everyone experiencing this problem please indicate:
1) iOS firmware version
2) iTunes version
3) Most recent MediaMonkey build# for which this is reproducible
Thanks.
