[1421] played podcasts are marked as unplayed on iPhone

I've tried to use MM for video podcast synching to my iPhone 4 instead of iTunes to prevent the still happening breakage of artwork.
The podcasts get downloaded and synced ok but when I watch an episode on the iPhone and then sync it again the episode doesn't get deleted on the iPhone but instead marked as unplayed again.
It seems the iPhone play counter isn't synced back correctly to MM.

Thanks. I tested this out and play history seems to work correctly for video podcasts for me. Is it always happening to you?

btw, re. the AA breakage, I haven't seen that bug in quite some time Any more details?

Yes it always happens for me but I switched back to iTunes for the video podcast syncing because of that bug and the 'get more episodes' link on the iPhone not working when the podcast is synced by MM.

As for the album art garbage, yes after switching back to iTunes for the video podcast syncing it (iTunes) immediatly killed most (not all) album arts on the iPhone.
The album listing has two of six albums with the correct cover, one the correct one also shows it in the track listing, the other not.

Have you tried mixed syncing with iTunes regarding that problem?

Hi abraxxa,

I'm able to use the iPhone/iTunes to download p/vodcasts without interfering with MM artwork. Using iTunes, I copied podcasts, movies, vodcasts, music to the iPod, and then synced repeatedly with MM and did this in various permutations/combinations.

Can you describe a set of steps that consistently messes up the artwork on an iPhone synced with MM?

I've deleted all videos by syncing with MM and not having *.m4v and *.mov in the list of files to ignore.
Then I synced the video podcasts using iTunes -> artwork of music synced with MM garbled.

I can't replicate

Here's what I did:

1 Completely remove all content from the iPod with MM.
2 Sync a few music playlists with MM. Close MM.
3 Sync a couple of vodcasts with iTunes. Close iTunes.
4 Delete a couple of tracks with MM. Close MM.
5 Edit the p/vodcast sync list in iTunes and resync. Close iTunes.
6 Resync with MM.

At each step I verified that the Album art for all tracks on the device isn't corrupted, and there were no problems. Then I performed the same set of tests with MediaMonkey and iTunes running concurrently, and again, no problems.

Any other ideas?

Note: Tested iPod Touch, IOS 4.3.1, iTunes 10.3.1.55, MM build 1432.

I've done the same you did:
1 Completely remove all content from the iPod with MM by selecting Music, Videos and finally Podcasts and selecting all entries and deleting them.
2 Sync my 'iPhone' playlist containing mp3's and flac's which get autoconverted to mp3's with the preset Extreme: VBR ~256kbps - Near CD Quality+ -> artwork ok
3 Sync the unseen video podcasts 'FastLaneDaily' (1 episode) and 'Mein iPhone und ich' (4 episodes) with iTunes (the options checked on the main device page are the second 'sync only marked titles and videos' and the 5th 'manage music and videos manually') -> still ok
4 Sync the playlist again after adding one album -> still ok
5 Watch one podcast episode and sync with iTunes again which deletes the seen episode -> still ok

So as always demonstration effect

My versions are: Windows 7 64bit, iPhone 4 with IOS 4.3.5, iTunes 10.4.1.10, MM 4 build 1432

Note that MM hangs when closing, sometimes for about five seconds, sometimes forever till you kill it with the task manager, about 50/50.

re. MM freezing on close, do you have any extensions installed? and if yes does it occur without them?

If possible, it would be useful if you could capture a debug log so we can learn a bit more about why the freeze is happening.
