Re: MediaMonkey iTunes plugin (d_itunes4.dll)
Hello, I'm using the latest version of the plugin w/ MM 4.03.1472 and iTunes 10.5.3.3. The script worked before for me, but only some of the time. Something happened recently and I had to clear my iTunes library in order to get the script working again. However, I can only sync about 150 songs at a time before MM locks up on me.
Other info:
So I checked the possibly locked files and they don't seem to be locked, read-only is unchecked and read and write is shown under permissions. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Other info:
- I have my music stored on an external ESATA HD.
I never deleted my itunes playlists.
I'm using win 7 64 bit, amd dual core
My library size is about 15,000 items.
The plugin is installed as non-admin, the option to install for current user only is checked and grayed out so it seems I can't reinstall as admin if I wanted to.
I have iTunes set to organize my media folders as well as copy tracks added into the folder.
MM is set to continuously scan those folders for changes.

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes plugin (d_itunes4.dll)
That's an internal database lock within iTunes. They are normally momentary and happen after a new track is added and the internal indices are updating. They can also occur if certain iTunes windows are open modifying the track. I'm interpretting that your iTunes DB has got screwed up in some way.
Reboot the PC, start iTunes. Manually remove the affected tracks from iTunes. Start MM and sync.
Keep your fingers crossed.

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes plugin (d_itunes4.dll)
Yep that seemed to get rid of the locked mp3 issue. However MM is still locking up on me after syncing about 50-100 tracks. I'm trying to sync a small amount of tracks at a time but it will take an unreasonably long time to complete.

IOS5 addon not working
Help! Cannot for the life of me get the .dll add on to work to allow me to transfer files from my iphone with IO5 to itunes via MM. Seems like there might be an old version of the addon in MM as I can see d_itunes4.dll in MM but I was never able to get this to work/scan the handset. Tried downloading the latest version of the addon, it just asks me to open or save which seems a bit strange. When I go to open after saving it the ditunes4-20122013.mmip cannot be opened, file unavailable or I do not have permission to access. Either way I cannot get MM to scan the 1284 songs on my handset. I'm not a techie, any plain speak solution to this most frustrating problem will be greatfully received!

Try Tools > Extension in MediaMonkey and select Add to install the addon. Make sure you're running MediaMonkey 4.0.3 and are installing the latest version of the plugin.

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes plugin (d_itunes4.dll)
The plugin works fine for me apart from one thing: I'm also syncing Audiobooks in m4b format and they appear in the Audiobook section in MediaMonkey. The syncing to iTunes and subsequently to the iPod too.
The problem is that those Audiobooks are synchronized/copied every time I start a synchronization even though nothing changed with them. This basically means that every sync takes 5minutes or so even though the important parts are finished after a few seconds.
Any idea what might cause this or how I could help debug it?
Thanks

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes plugin (d_itunes4.dll)
Have you got the m4b format added as a type for the plugin? Are the files converting each time? Is it only the m4b files that are doing this?

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes plugin (d_itunes4.dll)
On the Auto conversion tab I have everything disabled and in the Supported formats on device section (which I've completely missed until now) nothing is specified. It says Unknown (all formats). Is that what you mean?
I've just tried and yes out of my Audiobooks it only resyncs the m4b files. While looking at that I saw that it resyncs on other file as well which is classified as "Podcast" in iTunes and I don't know why. It has a type of Music in Mediamonkey.
Thanks for looking into this.

Make sure that you have iTunes running before MM is started.

d_iTunes4.dll hanging
Hey guys
I use the d_itunes4.dll plugin for MM to sync to iTunes so I can sync my iPhone 4 iOS5 with my MM library.
When I make changes in MM and want to sync it to iTunes, d_itunes4.dll frequently gets stuck on the task (preparing list of files). When that happens, I have to force quit MM. The only way I can get it working again is to reinstall the d_itunes4.dll plugin, and then it works again for a little while.
Does anyone know why this happens, or how I can fix it so I don't have to keep reinstalling it??
Thx

Re: d_iTunes4.dll hanging
I've been having this problem ever since I upgraded from MM3 to MM4. I'm not sure if the problem lies with the extension or with MM4, but its very frustrating. Sometimes tracks get synced super fast and other times its crawls, but either way, eventually MM locks up.sean wrote:Hey guys

I'd be curious to know if anyone is able to use this extension on a Win 7 64 bit pc, with over 10,000 songs. And if so, what are your computer's specs?
EDIT: I just tried changing MM's task priority to Realtime and I was able to sync a lot more songs at once (1400 of 6688). Maybe try that. Open iTunes, then MM, then open task manager, find MediaMonkey.exe, right click and Set Priority to Realtime. Then try syncing, but don't open any other programs or do anything while its syncing.
EDIT 2: I set iTunes priority to Realtime as well and I was able to complete a sync! Wahoo!

Re: MediaMonkey iTunes plugin (d_itunes4.dll)
I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ (3.01 ghz) with 6 gigs of DDR2 memory. No ssds, just a couple large SATA II hard drives. I pretty much shut all programs down, so I was using about 1.3 GB of my 6 GBs. The CPU was being split between iTunes and MediaMonkey, with MM using about 50-60% of my CPU and iTunes using 20-30%.
I also tried setting MM to use only 1 core to see if it was having issues with dual core technology, but that didn't seem to make a difference. Let me know if I can give you any other info to help...
Thanks for this great script
