IOHandler value is not valid with podcast

I've been unable to download content from this podcast for several revisions now

https://www.audioverse.org/english/podcasts/latest

Each download fails with this error:

IOHandler value is not valid with podcast

Didn't report it originally cause I thought it was a bug on the server side, but searching through this forums history, found out this might be a software bug.

This is probably due to: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=8898 where https downloads fail.
