I think that's a different problem. The folks in this thread seem to be saying the tracks sync over but the playlists don't show up. You seem to be saying nothing syncs at all. For that, I suggest you double check your device profiles in MMW and verify that a) there's only one profile for your device (or two if you have separate internal and external storage) and 2) that the content you thought you were syncing is still selected in the device profile.k2p2c2 wrote:I have the same proble with the lasts MMA and MMW on Windows 8.
Wifi, does not sync playlist and says nothing to sync...
Any thing I could do to help with my galaxy s3?
Thanks!

Remember when Last.fm had those cool imagegen charts for use in signatures?
Re: Wifi-sync doesn't copy playlists
PS. A workaround is now available thanks to the addition of Folders in MMA. In MMW in the Device Profile you can set it to sync files to <Playlist> folder instead of Artist and/or Album folders. From the Folder browsing in MMA you can play your Playlist.

Re: Wifi-sync doesn't copy playlists
In that case, k2p2c2, welcome to the club.
I had mine working at one point, but then all but one vanished on a wifi sync a little while back. Tracks remained, just the playlists disappeared. They disappeared from the other apps that could see them too.
Around that time, my wifi syncs started failing pretty consistently, so it's hard to experiment with getting the playlists back.
I finally punted and did a USB sync. At first, I thought that didn't work either. Then the next day, without having done anything in particular in between, I checked again and found the playlists to all be there again. The one that hadn't vanished is now there twice. Better than not having them.
On the whole, playlist management seems pretty buggy right now. Good thing that's not an important area for most MM users.
(kidding, of course, as I'm sure it's frustrating for everyone)

Re: Wifi-sync doesn't copy playlists
One thing I noticed about this problem: On MMA, in the Auto-Sync Server Content options, drill down into Playlists: what you see are the playlists that are shared by the UPnP server.
The list of sync'd playlists on MMW's "Auto-Sync (Device)" options is completely different. Those lists' tracks are sync'd, but the lists don't show up in the local playlists.
Select a UPnP playlist from the MMA Content options, and then sync: that playlist is added to the MMW sync list, and the tracks are copied. The MMA status reads "N tracks copies; 1 playlist copied" -- but the playlist still does not appear in the Playlists source on MMA.
EDIT:
I was wrong: the playlist that is both Shared in UPnP and selected in the Device Sync list did appear as a playlist on the Tab, but it didn't show up right away.
And I tried creating a new playlist, shared and selected for sync on MMW, and then sync: the tracks sync'd over, then after some time moving back and forth between screens, it showed up in the local Playlists.

Re: Wifi-sync doesn't copy playlists
is this issue being worked on because it is still happening and has been for some months now.
Re: Wifi-sync doesn't copy playlists
Playlists copy fine for me (in MMA). Make sure that you have the option to copy the Playlists enabled in the Device Profile in MMW.
The only thing I've noted with the last couple builds is that the Playlists on the device don't seem to contain tracks, whereas they do in MMA.

Re: Wifi-sync doesn't copy playlists
We're aware of the playlist management issues and have escalated the bugs. As far as I can see, in a default MMA/MMW config, initial syncs of playlists work ok. BUT:
1) Playlists aren't properly shared with other apps: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=10942
2) Moreover, if playlists are edited (either in MMA or MMW) and resynced, updates don't propagate: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=10850
