Mixing up internal and external storage
I am using MMW 4.0.7.1511 Gold, MMA 1.0.4.0165, and I am syncing to an Acer A500 tablet with Android 4.0.3 via USB. I have a 16Gb microSD inserted into the tablet. The tablet has 8Gb of internal storgae. When I first synced with the tablet MM correctly recognized the internal and external storage, and I synced several Gb of music to the external storage. However, now MM is mixing up the internal and external storage of the tablet. When I connect the tablet to my PC both the internal and external storage of the tablet appear in MM. However, when I click on the internal storage it shows the capacity and folder contents of the external storage (and vice versa).
I would like to add some additional content to the external storage. However, MM incorrectly reports that the capacity is insufficient.
What can I do to fix this?

You should use the latest beta version of MM when syncing to MediaMonkey for Android. MM 4.0 is not optimized to sync to MMA.

Oh. I thought that the primary new feature in MMW 4.1 was sync via WiFi. I didn't realize that even syncing via USB was not fully implemented in MMW 4.0. I'll try using the latest version of MMW 4.1 and see what happens.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Mixing up internal and external storage
Thanks for the advice so far. I tried using the beta version of MMW 4.1. That introduced additional problems. So, I went back to MMW 4.0. I can live with the miss-named storage labels.
So, now I am using I am using MMW 4.0.7.1511 Gold and MMA 1.0.4.0165, but I still have a problem. I have chosen to sync several playlists. However, they do not appear MMA. I have checked the \Playlist\ folder on the SD card, and all the playlists are there. They just don't appear in MMA.
How can I get the playlists to appear in MMA?

You'll need the latest MMW and MMA. Then make sure you have enabled the Playlists (in Options > Playlists in the Device Profile) to be synced.

Re: Mixing up internal and external storage
In the MMW Device Profile for my tablet there are three tabs: Summary: Auto-Sync List, and Options. On the Auto-Sync List tab I have put a check mark next to the playlists I want to sync. On the Options tab I have not changed any of the default settings (i.e. 'Sync playlists' is already checked.)
Still, my playlists do not show up in MMA, even though I can see that the playlist files have been transferred to the Playlist folder on my SD card.

Re: Mixing up internal and external storage
Thanks for the suggestion of using MMW 4.1. I have tried it several times. Each time I use it my albums are transferred to my Android device in duplicate. I haven't been able to find a way around that problem.
Is there no way to get playlists to properly synchronize to my Android device with MMW 4.0?
Otherwise, I guess I have to try MMW 4.1 again and try to figure out how to prevent the duplication of my albums in the synchronization process.

OK. Thanks. I'll give MMW 4.1 a try again. Maybe this time I can figure out how to solve the duplicate albums issue.

Re: Mixing up internal and external storage
Using MMW 4.1 and MMA I got the playlists to sync to my tablet. However, they are listed as "empty". The strange thing is that if I use Windows Explorer to copy the playlists and then paste them back into the same directory with a different filename, then they are no longer empty. I'm not sure what is going on there.

Re: Mixing up internal and external storage
I think I finally got it. On the external SD card I got all of my music files into the /Music directory, and I got all of my playlists into the /Playlists directory. Then, I un-installed MMA and deleted the /MediaMonkey folders on both the internal and external storage. Then, I re-installed MMA. Now all of my music and playlists are properly recognized in MMA.
This was an arduous process. I really like MMW and MMA, but I look forward to a less complicated syncing process once the applications move out of Beta. I'm grateful for those who are developing this products.
