Migration from iTunes

Post by DesmondPA »

Hi
I posted some note about 6 months ago about my Trials and tribulations of an iTunes Migration...Media Monkey is almost there but there are a few kinks which somebody may be able to steer me in the right direction.

Before going into detail..My main goal in the Podcast storage was that both Filename and Title was named similarly - this was in order to allow my Media Servers to implicitly order the podcasts by date e.g. Logitech Media Server or Media Monkey itself.
so in Options-> Downloads/Pdocasts I have set the 'Download podcasts to: ' N:\MM_Podcasts\<Album>\<Date> - <Artist> - <Title>
and any existing podcasts (i.e. that were downloaded by MM WITHOUT the above options set) not yet conforming may be renamed (IF SEEN - more on this later !) using the Auto-Organize option from the Tools option with the Destination set similar to the above (i.e. N:\MM_Podcasts\<Album>\<Date> - <Artist> - <Title> )
..WORKS 100% + 99% ..only glitch is the Podcast Date (Year) is RENAMED to the ACTUAL YEAR thus dropping month and day... ANY IDEAS?

So that's pretty good..HOWEVER...

I have literally thousands of Podcasts (downloaded by AN Other podcast organizer ;-) ) that I wish to import into Media Monkey...
Now I copy them into the Directory where I have say the most currect 10 podcasts - I JUST CANNOT make MM see these files ??
1. I do NOT wish to re-download the Podcasts for obvious reasons and in some cases they have expired at the source !! ANY IDEAS?

I feel I am on the Cusp of getting MM just right..any help appreciated....

Dezzz.
