Recording Title Length

Post by rkmchaney »

[/code]How can I set up a "Files to Edit" task to let me know which files have names which exceed the 64 digit limitation in regard to recording to CD/DVD? Thx, R!

You can't create your own Files to Edit nodes with MediaMonkey.

How about creating such parameters in "Playlists?" Any way to create these parameters in MM? May have to stick this on "Wishlist"

There is no criteria for file name length.

Do note you don't need to know this as you can change how filenames are created on the disc. You can for example use $Left(<Artist> - <Title>,60) to limit the filename to 60 characters. You can also do this on individual tags, $Left(<Artist>,30) - $Left(<Title>,30)

What you want is a tag editor that edits file names. Most do that. One good one that does is mp3tag. As you can guess most tag editors only edit mp3 files. If you have some other format you might be out of luck.

Just so you know how you before you try to rename the file is from meta data and text you can add such as
[band name]-[album name]-[title]
