Does this work?
Hi,
Can't get this to work at all, with too many error messages to list here....
Ok, here's one error to kick the ball into play:
I presume that the installation is:
1. Install podcast_x.vbs into the <program files>\mediamonkey\scripts\auto directory.
2. Restart mediamonkey.
3. Goto Tools> Options and click on the Library>Podcasts entry in the left hand explorer of the Options screen.
At this point I get an error

Ditto to these messages here, on a fresh 2.5.2.951 install.pdedecker wrote:I see you're making progress. Thanks for the download progress meter and the config dialog.
It would be nice if the script could resume downloads in a future version. (if you close MM before a download is completed)
Edit: some error messages that showed up:

Hmm, looks like it must be the list view control which displays the podcasts. Apparently you need a runtime licence to make it work if you add it from a script, so you need to have visual studio installed!
I'll look into a replacement control and try to fix the problem.
Does anyone else know of a table/list control which can be instatiated from scripts? There's no SDBUITable iirc, although I don't have the API reference in front of me at the moment.

alternative podcast list
Hi,
Just a suggestion, but have you considered storing the podcast URLs in an OPML file instead of the MediaMonkey.ini file. The advantages include:
- wouldn't require visual studio
- would allow easy migration from other podcast clients (eg doppler, juice, ipodder)
- would allow migration from mediamonkey (if I find that I don't want to use mediamonkey for podcasting)
- would attract podcast listeners to switch to mediamonkey from other music managers

Ah, excellent suggestion anon coward. I still think it would be more convenient to edit the podcast list from within MM: I don't want to make the script dependant on an OPML editor. Using an OPML file for storage is a good idea, and I'll try to implement that in the next version.
Edit: I think the best solution would be to use context menus on the tree to add/remove podcasts, thus eliminating the need for the table in the options dialog. This is more like the way the rest of MM works, and would allow more heirarchy, as provided in an OPML file.
Cheers,
Mike.

Following this closely. Can't wait and thank you for your efforts. It's the only thing left tying me to Itunes. Break the chains!
