MMA Switch between earbuds and A/V [21819]

I have been using Spotify Connect for quite some time. But, now MMA allows me to CAST to my Marantz 1711 receiver. I connect to the receiver, but when I go downstairs, I need to switch to my earbuds, WF-1000XM5. What is the proper/best way to do this? I have used "STOP Casting" and then click on "PLAY" in MMA to activate my earbuds.
What is the best way to do this? Sometimes what I do does not work that well.Spotify Connect connected to the earbuds as soon as I put them in my ears.

Note: If you stop casting, and then re-initiate playback and connect your headphones, it should work. If you don't want to re-initiate playback manually, try enabling Options > Playback > Resume Play on Connection (bluetooth).

I just want to do it so that the play counter is preserved. Whatever I have been doing is restarting the track. Maybe you could list some steps, 1,2.. etc.
This is happening when I transition back to the Marantz 1711 A/V from earbuds.

Once again, whatever I am doing, the play counter gets reset on the track I was listening to when I switch from earbuds to Marantz receiver.
NOTE: I am going downstairs to do laundry back and forth 3 times, wash, dry, collect dried clothes. That's why this is so frustrating. It happens every time I try to switch back to Marantz
