Adding tracks to library hangs

Post by miki4000 »

Whenever I scan tracks to the library MediaMonkey stops after a while and hangs. I can nott terminate the scanning with right click, I have to kill the app with Task Manager. This happens every time now. I am running 2.5.5.990. This is very annoying. It seems to stop on FLAC files to which I added cover art with Tag&Rename v3.3. The only scipt I am using is SrobblerDJ and Last.fm.

you using the non skinned version of monkey?
if so try the skinned version with the default skin and see if the same error shows up. ?
also is it the same file format it always stops on and how long is the songs
it is stopping on.

:-?

since it is locking and you need to close with the task manager i doubt it but try making a debug log and see if it will catch any error stopping it.

What I'd suggest:
- Make a debug log as explained here
- Make a copy of some problematic flac file (like the one that is displayed in the screenshot) and mail it to the developers (at the support email address).
Extensions: ExternalTools, ExtractFields, SongPreviewer, LinkedTracks, CleanImport, and some other scripts (Need Help with Addons > List of All Scripts).

I'm just testing it with files created with T&R 3.3 and all went OK.

If you can isolate one small flac (as small as possible) that block MM in separate folder and send it to Support, so that I can check it out.

have the same problem

I've got the same problem. I'm a first time user. Wanted to give MediaMonkey a shot. I use foobar normally.

When scanning my library (30000+) MM hangs in a specific directory, but with different files - mp3 and wma - it seems)

i don't know where to send files if necessary...
