Is anyone continuing on Oldskool73's good work with this script? It's one of my fave's, and if I had any coding experience/knowledge I'd give it a go... but I don't :(

From what I can see, the script is almost a final product, with only some minor nags and suggestions to be actioned... although I'm sure it's not so simple to do as it is to ask :)

OR: is there any word from the Devs if a similar feature will be implemented in MM 3? (If so, then there may be no need to continue development of this.)

I've asked for, and received, permission to continue work on this script. However I'm extremely busy at the moment so I haven't had an opportunity to. It's on my to do list though! :)

Well I like this script and the author is too busy to continue it, so I thought I'd give it a go! :)

Excellent news Trixmoto.

This script certainly deserves development.

MM freezes when playing specific song with MONKEYROK enabled

Post by arcspin »

Hey scripts gurus.
When I play a certain song my MM freezes up and I can't access anything at all, so I have to restart MM to get things going again...when I try to play the same song (and there are quite a few songs that I can't play) MM freezes up again.

but...when I take away the MONKEYROK script MM behavies normal and I can play all my songs regardless if that song didn't work with MONKEYROK enabled.

Is there away to solve this problem, because I really love the MONKEYROK interface alot.

Here's my original topic...

Lets go back to the basics...

Do you have a temp directory pointed from the tools\options\monkeyrok setup, e.g. c:\temp\ and does this directory you are pointing to actually exist?

Try setting the number of "Tracks Max" & "Albums Max" (both in the setup again) down to a minimum, say 4-5 or less as a trial

Are you getting any error message when the lockup occurs e.g. ActiveX

Are you absolutely sure you do have Alpha2 installed

Sorry if this is going over old ground but sometimes it helps to revisit the basic setup etc.

just before I forget... here's a bug (for Trix or anyone else who continues this in the future)
not sure if this has been mentioned before...

if the now playing list is empty when MM starts and MM is set to auto play on startup...

an error message is thrown by MonkeyRok.
Line 65
Char 2
Object required: 'SDB.Player.CurrentSong'
in Scripts/MonkeyRok/skins/basic/skin.html (but would be all skins)

All things seems to be normal but still....

Hi Paulmt,
Thank you for your time and effort to help me out.

It seems that MM freezes when MONKEYROK is trying to display "Albums By Artist" and "Albums featuring Artist".
When I start MM, MONKEYROK is also starting and MONKEYROK shows artist, tracks and most played tracks.
After that the progress cirkle appears in the "Albums By Artist" and "Albums featuring Artist" field and MM freezes up completely without any error messages what so ever.

Yes, I have downloaded the "latest" MONKEYROK ALPHA 2 from DustyPixels webpage "
http://www.dustypixels.com/blog/wp-cont ... pha_02.zip

Yes, the C:\temp do exist and MONKEYROK has cashen a lot om albumart .jpg in that folder.

When I remove the MONKEYROK folder and vbs script, MM works just fine and everything is back to normal.

Now I use the Detailed Song Info script to hilite my current playing album and that script is working just fine...

Thanks again,

//Peter

If you edit the "Albums Max" and "Tracks Max" down to minimum does that change anything?

Hey! Great Plugin...

But I was wondering, is it normal to see no picture of there is no tagged picture? Recently I decided to use just "folder.jpg" pictures.
I don't see them...

a) error: how do I fix this?
b) no error: than this post is a feature request! ;)

Does MediaMonkey show album art for the track? If not you will need to add the album art to the songs first (could be done with add/rescan tracks). If MediaMonkey does see the album art there could be a problem with MonkeyRok. I do have occasions where MediaMonkey shows an album art where MonkeyRok doesn't.

The lack of album art in MonkeyRok may be the same reason BrowseByArt sometimes misses it = it simply hasn't been cached. With BrowseByArt, this is remedied by either editing the album / track / album art properties. From my limited understanding, this sets a flag to re-cache for these files. (?) I think this also works for MonkeyRok.

Adding album art by drag & drop doesn't seem to raise this flag, and thus these scripts don't add them to the cache.

Maybe someone with better understanding could make it clearer. :)

Hej Paulmt and all other bright minds out there.
It's me with the MONKEYROK Script hangups problem writing again. :D

When I set the "Albums Max" and "Tracks Max" to zero I get error messages but MM doesn't freeze up, right away !!!
After a while MM freezes up, but not after that some error messages apperars...
and the error message is as follow:

Row: 110
Character: 2
Error message:
There was a problem querying the database:
42000:[Driver for ODBC Microsoft Access] SELECT-expression contains a reserved word or argument that is either misspelled or is missing, or there is a wrongley used seperations character.
Code: 0
URL:file:\Program\Mediamonkey\scripts\MonkeyRok\skins\basic\skin.html

(Now, bear in mind that I have translated the error message from Swedish to English, so there might be some misspelled words but the content of the error messages is there)

This error message apears everytime a submenu is trying to start...ending with MM frezzes up completely.

Anyone care to coment this error messages ?

Cheers,
//P

I don't believe that MonkeyRok supports a 0 (zero) value for these variables. You need to have at least a value of 1. I do hope that Trixmoto makes it possible to hide (zero value) these (and all other) fields.
