If the error is because you have set Album Max and Track Max to "0" go back into options\monkeyrok and reset to minimum which would be "1"

Once you have done this you may need to restart MM but normally with MonkeyRok you shouldn't have to.

I've tried every possible variation

Post by arcspin »

Hi,
I have now tried every "possible" variation.
Minimum 1 song, minimum 2 songs, minimum 3 songs....
I have tried different skins....

MONKEYROK do freeze my MM when I use it.
It stabile for a song or two but eventually it will freeze up completely...no error messages what so ever

Frustrating as hell, cause this is one hell of a nice script...

You could uninstall/reinstall the script, but the important thing to know is that it's an alpha release, which means that bugs are possible. Some other users have had similar issues. Now we just need to wait till Trixmoto gets a chance to release a new (more stable) version.

I will take a MONKEYROK break for now...

Post by arcspin »

Hi Lowlander,
Yes the Alpha status do mean that things can go wrong from time to time so I'm now on a offical MONKEYROK break

For me that's ok, I'll just have to wait untill Trixmoto finds the time and rewrite the script...untill the I will enjoy my record collection with the best organizer software out there.

Enjoy the hollidays and lets hope we all will have a jolly good time and a happy new year :D

hi guys,

grabbed this script about a week ago. I have to say it is a realy great idea. Since i got it i noticed the rating stars were not working and there was no skin that fitted in with the greymonkey skin. So i decided to try and edit the script files with no previous experience of scripting. this is what i ended up with:

if any of you guys would like this i will zip the files and try to find a way to host it.

Hopefully I will get some time this month to properly go through this script, fix any remaining bugs and add any requested features. If you email me what you've done, I'll try to include it.
Download my scripts at my own MediaMonkey fansite.
All the code for my website and scripts is safely backed up immediately and for free using Dropbox.

MonkeyRok Alpha 2 ratings stars

Post by jamesclark »

Hi! Great program! Great plugin!

I'm new here, so please excuse me if this has been answered.

On my machine MonkeyRok Alpha 2 displays half stars on songs without a rating. Line 385 in MonkeyRok/Function.vbs is:

Code: Select all

If i-j>=0.5 Then
Changing it to:

Code: Select all

If i-j=0.5 Then
Seems to fix that. I'm a Java guy, and I started using MediaMonkey yesterday. If I'm wrong please don't shoot. I don't grasp why the script uses rating/20 unless internally the value range is 0-100.

Here's an odd blip...

Between songs I get the sound of a window info bubble popping up. I don't see it, but I hear it. Can anyone else confirm it, or have a fix?

Thanks!

In the MediaMonkey options you can turn the pop-up notification of a track change off.

Hello arcspin!
As you may have read further back in this thread, I'm have the same problem with MM freezing up. Though I can use MonkeyRok without any problems if all my songs are unrated.

This may be a hint where the problem can be solved, but I have no experience in programming or scripting at all, so I'm waiting just as you, hoping that someone can solve the problem for us.

Nice to hear from a fellow Swede.
I'm from Lulea, in the northern part of Sweden.

Maybe it's a local problem that we have, you know based on our Swedish Windows XP ???

Who knows

Untill our MonkeyRok issues are solved I can recommend the "Detailed Song Info Panel" script.
A real great script aswell.

Take care,

My MM also freezes up when using Monkeyrok alpha 0.2 (only version tried)

But my windows isn't Swede but German, and it's fully patched.

I'm using IE 7, if that's of any intrest for trixmoto (think most ppl have updated by now?)

Concerning the version of IE, I'm using IE 7 aswell, but I had the same problem when I used IE 6, so it's not related to that.

My guess is that there is some problem with the rating-system (my problem only occurs when I have rated songs in my library). Well, I'm far from a programmer, but maybe the reason for this problem depends on different values of the ratings between the script and MM? Hence that this makes the program crash at the moment when the script are about to show the ratings..

OK, this wouldn't explain why it still work for the most of you out there.

RedX and arcspin: Do you have rated songs in your library? If you have, try to set your ratings to "unknown" and see if the script works then, because it does perfectly for me.

So until the bug is fixed, it's a matter of live without ratings och without MonkeyRok. :-?

Sorry for my english.

I'm on a Monkeyrok diet

Post by arcspin »

Tjenare Rickard,
I haven't tried to unrate my songs and I have deleted Monkeyrok for the time being.
I'm satisfied with Detailed song info panel for now.

I do hope that Monkeyrok will come out of alpha status some time soon, because it sure looks good but then again next version of MediaMonkey will probably have some nice features...

Cheers,
