Thought I'd just bump this subject.

Any further news on MM 3.0?

Lots of bits and pieces, but no full list. The alphas should be here soon(ish) so you'll get a full idea then!

There is currently a BETA out. Have a look at the Beta forum.

:-)
When I first saw it, the first thing I thought of was Estimated Time of Arrival. Of course, I've been drinking today. :D

I think Estimated Time of Arrival was the original meaning!

Is 3.0 still coming out this year?

I'm getting so sick of iTunes right now, but I can't do without the smart & nested playlists.

Smart playlists are auto-playlists. Nested playlists are possible except that the parent playlist doesn't contain tracks from child playlists.

There hasn't been any news from the developers on a possible release date for the alpha or the final so we still assume that an alpha release will be available before years end.

Well the auto playlists from MM and the smart playlists from iTunes are different things.

With nested playlists I meant of course playlists that reference each other.

It'll be great if it comes out before the 22nd, otherwise i would have to wait until mid-january to test, as I'm going on a road trip to the coast and there is no internet where I'm going: only an amplifier and speakers!

@judas - Wow, looks nice!

I believe the first alpha is due before the end of the year, but I guess it just depends on when a stable enough version is ready, that has all the features in they want alpha tested.

I get the feeling that we're getting close. This is based on the developers recent online activity. I assume that the alpha release is feature complete and that the developers are trying to take any possible bugs out that people have with current releases. This seems to have the pattern with previous releases.

I also noticed this and thought the same. Let's hope.
