My Archos (a 402) does allow video out. I believe the new ones do too (600 series), but I believe that Archos like others is making those features either optional or require a separate purchase to add on to the device (proprietary hardware). I think I'll happily be sticking with Archos when it is time to upgrade. It doesn't quite have all the eye candy UI features, but it does do video and music well, and it is easy to use and quite configurable.
