Have you tried converting any of these ALACs to a more robust format? I've never used them myself, but they seem very susceptible to corruption.

To paraphrase Airplane, I think I picked the wrong week to quit iTunes. :-?

I have about 15,000 ALAC files, and I have just ordered an Android phone, hoping to start using MMW/MMA to sync. This is troubling to say the least. [Following...]

Considering ALAC files don't play on android, you will want to consider batch converting your ALAC to FLAC format.
