A new build which adresses the bug reported by gtbuzz has been posted. It has the slight tradeoff that the "unknown" node is no longer displayed for a few fields unless they're at the first level of the hierarchy. So for instance, if using

Code: Select all

Involved people\<involved people>
The unknown node will be displayed. But if using

Code: Select all

Artist and involved people\<artist>\<involved people>
The unknown node will not be displayed at the involved people level (even if explicitly using unknown:yes). This affects the classification fields and the extra "people" fields (lyricist, original artist, involved people, etc).

Let me know if anybody's using masks where this is an issue. If so, I'll try to get a better solution for next version.

PS: it also affects the cover storage field. And by the way, this wasn't working either, so if you didn't get any errors in your nodes then you won't notice this change at all.

You're right, <album artist> and <artist> can't be combined. This issue is mentioned somewhere in the online help. The problem is that <album artist> links albums.idArtist = Artists.id and <artist> links songs.idArtist = Artists.id, so you end up with albums.idArtist = songs.idArtist, producing the behavior you described.

If you have any ideas of how to overcome this problem let me know :D . I wasn't able to find a solution that doesn't imply rewriting a big part of the script  .

By the way, I still owe you a reply to your PM  .

Or Statements?

Post by Jean Of mArc »

Is it possible to have or statements in nodes?
What I am trying to do is create a node that contains songs with a rating of 3 or above, or with no rating at all, thereby skipping the crappy tunes.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks!

Yes, it's possible. Try someting like this:

Code: Select all

Not too crappy songs|filter:rating>=3 or rating<0\<album artist>

Yes, you do

Maybe I will try to find s.th. in script that fixes it, but I must say, the script is very complex. I have very much respect of the work you did.

Hi.

Thought it best to ask a question about Magicnodes in here, rather than starting a new topic.

First off, thanks to MagicNodes script, its great!

What I wondered is, is it possible to make a Node that displays only selected file types/formats?
I want to have a "Music Videos" node, that will just show the video file formats I want it to, i.e .mov. .mpg etc.

At the moment, I have a "file types" node done with <format>, but obviously it shows all files types, not just video files.

Any Ideas? Thanks.

Hi, glad you find the script useful :D .

Yes, it's possible. Use something like this:

Code: Select all

Only video files|filter:format in ('mov', 'mpg')\<album artist>

Hey Pablo,

The code :
Only video files|filter:format in ('mov', 'mpg')\<album artist>
works great, but I'd like to add the node under the Album node, not in the Magic Node section.

I realise you do this using the "child of:" qualifier, but I can't seem to get it to work at all  . Could you help me out ?

**edit** figured it out, i forgot the last ">" at the end of the end, lol.

for those who want to know it's:

Code: Select all

Music Videos|child of:album|filter:format in ('mpg' , 'avi' , 'peg' , 'asf' , 'dat' , 'wmv')\<artist>\<title>
Thanks again.

btw, Maybe whacking in a parameters.txt file with the script for download would be a goer? Like they do with most other scripts. As in it would show the all the list of fields and qualifers and options for each, etc. So It'd all be in one place and offline?[/b]

My mistake pah68, was just using .mov as an example of video files before. I see that the plugin doesn't play .mov files.

I fixed it up outta the final mask.

**edit** Actually, you can get .mov files into mediamonkey by using in_qt.dll.
But the file doesn't play in the video plugin, even when you have qt or qt_alternative installed for rendering the file

But I see that there's a few Winamp2 video plugins that play .mov files, so maybe there's a way for it to work?

**double edit** got .mov files working alright (not perfect) now with another video plugin and the in_qt.dll file. I know this is off track for this thread now, so I've taken it to:

I'm getting an error everytime I start MM:
Error #1002 - Microsoft VBScript compilation error
Syntax error
File: "C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Scripts\Auto\MagicNodes.1.3.vbs", Line: 891, Column: 3

I get a MagicNodes item in the tree, but I dont see an option anywhere to create any nodes.

I installed it correctly in the Scripts\Auto folder with no older versions installed. I am using the latest MM beta.
