Genre Finder 5.0 - Updated 05/08/2012
look for the magnifying glass icon on the standard toolbar
New script:
Last.FM Node Now with DJ Mode!
Last.fm + MediaMonkey = Scrobbler DJ!
Tag with MusicBrainz ~ Get Album Art!
Tweak the Monkey! ~ My Scripts Page

Sounds like the installation has failed. If it's not in "Tools>Scripts" then you might need to manually add the relevant ini entries (see the comment at the top of the script) into the Scripts.ini file.

I'm also having hte same problem as Aphex.
It is not located under "Scripts". I tried clicking the magnifying glass but that didn't do anything. I uninstalled it and reinstalled and still nothing (although it does say install was successful).
I'm not sure what you mean by edit the .ini file
Could anyone help?

Ok I got it to work. I went into options to show it on the tool bar and now it shows it (it should be there by default I think). It's confusing in that it uses the same icon as the search. Perhaps a different one?homersheineken wrote:I'm also having hte same problem as Aphex.

I don't like cluttering up people's toolbars - very few of my scripts display icons by default. If you want to design me a new icon then I'll happily replace it!

Re: problem
I still can't replicate this even using 50 tracks, two fields, 3 values - can anyone provide me a screenshot of their settings if they are getting this message?jan2k wrote:

Can you try setting the log level as high as possible and then when MM locks up can you check the "%temp%\GenreFinder.log" file - does this have all the changes listed or is it also truncated?bob61 wrote:Reloaded MM3 and selected another 30 tracks, lock-up once again when processing the changes. This is a reoccurring problem, just not sure what triggering the freeze up.

Sorry, I've just had a proper look at this and it should be...bob61 wrote:I tried this:
Genre | White | *%Rock=Rock
Also tried:
Genre | White | *,%Rock=Rock
Genre | White | *+%Rock=Rock

Whitelist File
For me I think this would be a nice feature, that little box gets crowded quickly. Unless I'm missing another place where this can be done?ashenkin wrote:Thanks again, trixmoto. Have you thought about allowing a file-based white/black list?
Sounds like you're describing the "Artist" mode which I've just finished implementing in MM3 - need to work out a few bugs before I release it though!

I'm really really struggling with this script!! I have album mode working in MM3 now, and it even has an option to check other tracks in the library before querying Last.Fm.
However, multiple artists is a problem for artist mode. How do people think this should work?
1) Process each artist individually
2) Process each group of artists individually
I like the idea of (1) as the querying will be easier but then how do you work out what to tag with what when you've got multiple artists? Option (2) would make the tagging much simpler but the querying would be complex.
Any comments?
