Batch Art Finder 4.2 - Updated 03/07/2012
@Zachm019 - I'm struggling to fully understand your problem, other than that it's not working! Could you please email me a set of instructions defining exactly what you're doing, and what the results are, so that I can try and replicate, or at least work out where the problem might be. Thanks for the site suggestion, I'll take a look.
@Mizery_Made - This script can't pull result from amazon at the moment because of it's structure. The site mentioned by Zachm019 might prove to be a good way in!
@jirka/ninjapanda - I'm not really sure what's happening here. I will make sure that the next version has proper error catching in this area so that hopefully we'll be able to work out what's going wrong. All I can really tell you is that the download is not creating the file, I don't know why it's not.

No buttons
Trix I don't have any buttons on the bottom of the form. Any idea why? My DPI setting for Windows fonts is 120% but that is the only odd thing about the PC MM is on. I have actually been runnig without buttons for quite a while. I am able to make it work by hitting the Enter key a couple of times. I assume it tabs to the proper button and then hitting Enter starts the script. I didn't realize there were buttons until I saw the script on another computer.
Great script by the way, I use it not only for batch downloads but for singles as well. Thanks very much.

I sent the screen shot to your gmail account. Thanks for taking the time to help me out.
FINALLY!!!!!!!

I have FINALLY gotten all of my 1800+ albums with art. Here are some things that I ran into and maybe Trixmoto they will help you developed this WONDERFUL script even more.
1) I found A LOT of albums that had incorrect artist (which hindered the result of the Batch Art Finder)
2) I found a bunch of off the wall things added to Album names (years, "ost", "retail", "pre-release", etc) I used Media Monkey's Auto Playlist and put in those key words to knock them out of the way.
3) I mastered the art in manually adding album art for those really off the wall ones... I created some generic ones for club mixes, techno remixes, comedies, etc and used those. If it was sound clips from a show I put the show logo as the art.
4) I also used the Auto Tag from Amazon feature on the one with messed up information or just something that didn't fit.
5) Use your options... I used www.amazon.com, imags.google.com, iTunes, and the web to find album information, song information, etc.
6) Trixmoto- I mentioned this to you before and I tested it fully. For some reason if you change the edit query option it will not save the art work. I think once you change it... it doesn't know where to put it. Also I couldn't get the Juno site to work... that might only work outside the US but I could be wrong.
7) I found some songs that had the wrong song names... and some with the right song but wrong Artist and if it wasn't for this month upon month of work I never would have figured it out!
I hope all my hard work and determination has helped you guys out there! I know this program is a huge help!

I'm glad you've finally got this script working for you (almost) and that you've got your albums sorted.
6) This will be fixed in the next version.

*Very* Slow performance with IE7
Trixmoto-
I'm very happy to have found your batch art script. Very awesome! I have a modest collection of appx 1200 albums, and I needed to run the script overnight to return results for the entire batch. When I try to scroll through the UI (to select the art I want to use), the lag time is enormous. I've run the utility a few times, even connected to my broadband with a cable (dropped the wireless), but with same results.
The UI speeds up a bit after I've saved a few images, but then slows down again appx 30 seconds later.
The pause/resume button doesn't seem to work. Possibly also b/c of lag time.
Thanks for any help you can provide. Happy Holidays!

There can be a huge lag with lots of albums. That is why I added the Maximum option to set smaller batch sizes. Then you can do a smaller group in one go, and use the Next button to continue with the next group of albums.

Hi trixmoto,
wow this is not what i search for ,but it is very near.
Some of my friends have no internet, so i want to make an index of her albums like artist - album.
Then i need a script like yours where i can load the index and it searches for the covers, when the search is done i can select the right and whola.
Is it possible to do that ?

I'm not sure how possible this would be to include, but I'll certainly take a look and see what I can do.

Hi folks, i just started using MM and Batch Art Finder today. I must say its a neat program, but i'm having a slight problem.
I'm running Avetunes, another programs that basically displays the embedded cover art when playing an mp3.
If i use MM's own Auto-tag to embed the mp3, the cover art displays fine.
However when i use Batch Art Finder to embed, i just get a transparent image. Not the cover art.
I find this odd since both are essentially doing the same thing. I'm running XP SP2 with regional language setting changed from native english > chinese. I wonder if this has cause any effect on the VB script and caused the issue.
Any help is appreciated. Many thanks ppl !

In the BatchArtFinder settings, which Storage option are you using?
This script does use standard procedures so this should definitely work in the same manner as tagging manually.
