Note that build 1274 has been posted, so try to use that build if possible...
Thanks.

Re: iPod Nano 5G support
try doing a factory restore via itunes, then using the 1273 (or 1274) build to sync. hopefully that'll do the trick.leebel wrote:I'm now wondering what the differences can be between our environment? My 5G 16GB nano crashes MM 3.1.2.1273 every time I try and sync. With 3.1.21272, the sync happens fine but the nano doesn't see any of the sync'd files. Is there a right and wrong way to install 1273?
Re: iPod Nano 5G support
My new Nano 5G now works perfectly thanks to 3.1.2.1274 and a new d_iPod.dll that Jiri has put up. WONDERFUL! No crashes and the iPod sees all the sync'd files. Didn't have to reset the Nano at all.

Re: iPod Nano 5G support
For what it's worth, still having problems with a 5g and 3.1.2.1275 + updated d_ipod.dll. Transfer seems to work fine, but cannot rebuild the device database. It gives a "thread creation error - not enough storage is available to process the command." There is plenty of space on both the PC and iPod.
Re: iPod Nano 5G support
sounds like your temp folder is redirected to a network share or your using roaming profiles?
that error is a windows networking error, I don't think its a problem with MM itself.

Re: iPod Nano 5G support
All solved. Running beta 1274 with a new d_iPod.dll from Jiri did the trick. I had previously copied the .dll to the root folder rather than the plugin folder.
The nano 5G now works perfectly.

Re: iPod Nano 5G support
Thanks - the replacement worked for me with a brand new 5th Gen Ipod nano.
I have just loaded MediaMonkey for the first time - wonderful stuff.
After a hard disk crash, I have just rebuilt a new pc only to find the music on the ipod is stuck on it thanks to Apple.
It was a joy to load MM and find it would manage what was on the ipod AND provide a brilliant library manager and player.
Thanks
Mark

Re: iPod Nano 5G support
I'm starting to have problems again. I made the mistake of allowing iTunes to update my iPod, think it would hurt anything. After letting my iPod sync though, the iPod wasn't able to read any of the music. It told me there wasn't any music on the iPod. After resetting my iPod to factory settings, I tried doing the steps on the first page of this topic again, but it didn't work. I tried with beta versions 1.2.1174 and 2.0.1190, both with and without manually installing the d_iPod.dll file, but still nothing.
I should also mention that previously, my iPod would still mess up if I tried to just update it with a sync (some files would still be there, but the others would be recognized), I always had to delete all of the music than do a sync. It would work fine after that though. But now I can't get it to recongize the music no matter what I do.

Re: iPod Nano 5G support
I have the same problem.
I noticed that the ipod nano firmware version is now 1.02 - i think it was 1.01 before
it would be great to know whether there is a fix for this

Re: iPod Nano 5G support
That must be it. I looked online and it looks like retail 5g nanos had v 1.0 or 1.01, at least when I got mine.
Re: iPod Nano 5G support
Thanks, there really is a problem, it will be fixed in the next release.
