Hi again.
Sorry if i come back with this. I can't download this script from it's actual location. Would it be possible for you to host it on some more reliable place such as drop-box? My DNS provider won't let me access isgreat.org. :-?

Hey Let,

I am a huge fan of this script. Almost use it every day.
I recently bought a new desktop computer and installed MM4 and the script but can not make it work.

I get the following error when I run the script:

Error #-2147024891 - msxml6.dll
Access is denied.
File: "c:\Program Files\Mediamonkey4\Script\DiscogsAutoTagWeb.vbs", line 575, Column: 2

And when I close MM:

Script:
c:\Users\Member\Appdata\Roaming\Mediamonkey\Scripts\Abackup2.vbs
Line: 65
Char: 7
Error: Permission Denied
Code: 800A0046
Source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error

Thanks in advance for your help!

I still couldn't find opportunity (time) to test MM4 but this sounds like you haven'T installed MSXML6 :) if it's already installed try executing "regsvr32 msxml6.dll" on command line.

Hi Let,

The dll is already installed and registered. MM3 however works.

Then you'll have to figure it out on your own :)

When MM3 and MM4 both installed and started, if you try Discogs tagger via MM3 first then MM4 will work!

I don't think that you should have both MM3 and MM4 running, and I don't think your MM3 and MM4 installation should share the same scripts directory, if they currently do.

You might want to try fully uninstalling MM (back up your DB of course) and reinstalling the latest release of MM4 alone, with a fresh appdata folder (so make sure to rename the old one first), and starting with ONLY the Discogs tagger plugin so you can make sure it works.

If it does, then you can reintroduce your other scripts, one at a time, and make sure they work in MM4. If it doesn't, then at least you know it's something else in your system causing the problem.

Hi Ben,

Thanks for your remarks. I have MM3 and MM4 installed in different directories. Will do some extra investigation. At least in the way above (and then only 1 MM running) I can make it work.

When I use Discogs Tagger, I experience a very annoying problem. When I open DT, the tracks I have selected are not in the same order they are in MM and so they do not get properly tagged. Example 1 - Example 2

It would be nice if within the DT window, you could click on a column to sort the selected tracks.
It would be nice if the page in DT did not scroll up or refresh every time something is checked or unchecked.
It would be nice if you could minimize the DT window without minimizing MM.
It would be nice if DT search feature was improved, it never seems to get the right release and I am forced to always manually enter the release number in order to get DT to pull up the right release.
It would be nice if DT had the option to resize the album artwork before applying it since the artwork is not always square, for example rather then being 500x500 or 600x600 some images might be 600x598. Some people may not notice or care but I will notice and it will drive me crazy. Perhaps DT can use an external program such as IrfanView or ImageMagic to accomplish this and without lowering the images quality.
It would be nice if DT could recognize "1.01" or possibly "1:01" as the Disc # and the Track # and separate them accordingly like it already does with "1-01".
It would be nice if DT could take "Artist Pres. Artist", "Artist Feat. Artist" or "Artist Vs. Artist" and replace it with "Artist; Artist", "Artist, Artist" or "Artist/Artist".

The fact that Discogs Tagger uses track names to determine sort order instead of track numbers seems to be a common and long-standing issue that is supposedly not as simple as it would seem to fix using MediaMonkey's API. I have been wondering how the Amazon tagger differs, however, as that one properly sorts by track number first--having that sorting behavior with the Discogs tagger would be the best of both worlds for me.

I tried to answer your wishes in red. Thanks for the requests and ideas.

When I open DT, the tracks I have selected are not in the same order they are in MM and so they do not get properly tagged. Example 1 - Example 2 It's MM but DT who does the sorting and matching in the lower window. Matching is not done by order, it is done with track name. Track order has nothing to do with matching.

It would be nice if within the DT window, you could click on a column to sort the selected tracks. This is doable but the order in DT window is the order in Discogs.com
It would be nice if the page in DT did not scroll up or refresh every time something is checked or unchecked. This annoys me too, i think i can do this. Tricky!
It would be nice if you could minimize the DT window without minimizing MM. Again this is not in control of DT but MM
It would be nice if DT search feature was improved, it never seems to get the right release and I am forced to always manually enter the release number in order to get DT to pull up the right release. Results are returned by Discogs.com according to what information you have in your track, try to search whatever you have in your track, you'll get the same results
What DT provides to MM is the URL of the album artwork. I think MM is the right place to resize.
It would be nice if DT could recognize "1.01" or possibly "1:01" as the Disc # and the Track # and separate them accordingly like it already does with "1-01". It's clearly stated in discogs guides that the correct format is 1-01, if somebody enters 1.01 or 1:01, it's his mistake. ':' can be handled but '.' has a different meaning (subtrack)
It would be nice if DT could take "Artist Pres. Artist", "Artist Feat. Artist" or "Artist Vs. Artist" and replace it with "Artist; Artist", "Artist, Artist" or "Artist/Artist". This can be done. I'll consider it in next release.

I installed the plugin manually on my win7 computer. I've saved DiscogsAutoTagWeb.vbs under scripts folder and appended section to "scripts.ini" file. But I can't see the "Discogs Tagger" in the Strg-L ("Auto-tag from Web") -> Option Menue. I have only the six amazon domains.
By the way: Discogs doesn't need the api key (--> http://www.discogs.com/help/api).
