Hello!

Can someone give me please a podcast link that works with this plugin? So that I can be sure the proböem is not with the link but with the script (same Error #424).

Thanks!

sccrzeus, sorry, no recent improvements. I have to hand in my Master's thesis in two weeks, but after that I should have a bit more time to work on it.

sammawatt, try http://www.twis.org/audio/podcast.rss, I know that one works with the plugin (for me anyway).

OK, it was not the Feed that caused the problem.

I can see the titles, albums and Genre on the list, but then the error:

Error # 424 - Runtime Error in Microsoft VBScript
Object needed: 'item.getElementsByTagName(...)(...)'
File: "C:\Programme\Mediamonkey\Scripts\Auto\Podcasts_0.2.vbs", Line: 444 Column: 3

then next Error message:

Error executing Script Event

Any suggestions?

sammawatt, after double checking the TWIS podcast it seems to have moved here:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/twis/science

just to confuse the issue. This may be the problem, can you check again with the new URL?

After testing this myself, it does seem quite broken. I'm not sure what's causing it. The podcast XML does download (using the original URL), but then seems to cause the error (after it's already populated the list of episodes). I'd not seen the error before, and I've not changed my setup. Plus the options dialog seems to freeze when I add the new URL.

Thanks, I'll try to get this fixed,

Mike.

No, it still doesn't work. I get the List of titles as well, then same errors
I don't need this podcast, if you have another one working for you, just send me this link and I will try.

Just want to test if it's basically working...

Sorry, it just doesn't seem to work - It will still download episodes if you can get the list to appear.

I've no idea why it's doing this, since last time I used it (about a month ago) it didn't give these errors.

I don't have time to look at it now, but I will work on the problem soon. Sorry to waste your time on this,

Mike.

Excuses, excuses.

Good luck on the thesis and thanks for the work.

podcast VB script

Post by zii »

Sadly, the only reason I'mnot using MM is because it cannot d/l podcasts. I have tried a VB script to get it work but it blows up.

The script was from http://www.schmeeky.co.uk/mmPodcasts/

When I run it, it will populate the list of podcasts but cannot d/l. It gave the error message:

Error: #-2147221230
Monkey\Scripts\Auto\Podcasts_0.2.vbs, Line 490, Column: 2

I installed the VB RunTime scripts from here
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

but still get the same error message. The mesage is about Session Limits, but I don't know what this means.

Does anyone know what this means, and how I could mend it.

Regards, Z.

extra info.

After getting the aforemeantioed error message, the next popup error message window says : Error happened during script execution: Class is unlicenced for use.

Hey zii,

yeah, someone else had similar problems, the session limit thing doesn't make much sense to me either. The licence problem is regarding the list component used in the options dialog. I'll try to work this out next week.

Built-in Podcasting, Please

I've purchased MM with the hope that the ability to download podcasts and integrate them into the library will be implemented.

I'm currently using Juice and working on a script to move and tag the files. But I'd rather have an all-in-one toolkit!!

They are definitely working on Podcasting support.

One of the developers said they would try to squeeze bookmarking support for podcasts into the next release if they could, and they wanted to add a lot of support for podcasts, but probably won't make it for this release.

Just be patient. If users request a good feature, the developers implement it. It takes time, but that's more than you can say for iTunes. ;)

Frankly, I think Juice and Media Monkey work really well together for podcasts. That's what I do. I just have MediaMonkey monitor the folder that Juice downloads to.

I do the same, but it would be great to have the integration so that I can rid of another extraneous program (I already rip my CDs with MM :) )

Any luck sorting out the MSINET.OCX (line 490) errors?
