Guide to iPod syncing

Re: Guide to iPod syncing
I'm in a perpetual loop here, can anyone help?
iTunes 9.0.2
Iphone 3.1.2
When i choose "Manually manage Music and Videos" i can use MM to sync all my tracks.
But how does one then sync ringtones? Because as soon as i tick "sync ringtones", i lose everything that MM has sync'ed across as iTunes says "Are you sure you want to sync ringtones? all existing songs, films and tv programmes on the iPhone will be removed"
And once you've synced the ringtones, "Manually manage Music and Videos" is unticked.
So you re-tick it and you lose the ability to sync ringtones. So you are back to the start.
Do you have to use MM to sync ringtones instead???

Re: Guide to iPod syncing
Okay, so if it can't, i'm currently left without the functionality to sync ringtones if i stick with MM?nohitter151 wrote:No, MM can't sync ringtones.
Also, after syncing mucg via MM, I tried syncing a video manually using iTunes (drag to Iphone) and it stopped halfway through and said it could not complete.
At the moment it seems like either MM works or iTunes works...... but being able to do everything with both is not quite working.

Re: Guide to iPod syncing
Are you running the latest version of MM? That's rather important as 5th gen nano support was just added as of version 3.2.manuel prego wrote:Man I just got my 5th gen NANO, MM doesn't sync, I've tried just about everything. Re: Guide to iPod syncing
Well I just got it working, yes I have the latest version of MM, somehow it wasn't recognizing it. I went back to the tutorial, did everything twice and now it seems to be working. Thanks Nohitter for the heads up. It's kind of late so I'll get back to library downloading tomorrow.

I try syncing my iphone, and it goes through the syncing process, but the album artwork doesn't show up. Is there anything in itunes that I can change to fix it or what?

Re: Guide to iPod syncing
Its not clear from your post if you're syncing with MM, with iTunes, what version of MM / iTunes, what type of files, how the art is saved, etc.megaalgos wrote:I try syncing my iphone, and it goes through the syncing process, but the album artwork doesn't show up. Re: Guide to iPod syncing
Okay I have MM 3.2.1294
I installed iTunes 8.2
My device is iPod Touch 1G (and a 2G)
I follow the guide as best I can but my iPods will not show up in MM. They do show up in iTunes. Any suggestions?

Which firmware is on your touch? You might have to update to a newer version of iTunes/Quicktime.VanillaXtract wrote:Okay I have MM 3.2.1294

Re: Guide to iPod syncing
It is 3.0. It used to work before I formatted my computer and reinstalled everything. I now use shark007 codecs. I think before I used k-lite. I can't remember because I reformatted a a month ago and just recently attempted to use MM again.

Re: Guide to iPod syncing
Quicktime is installed with iTunes. I guess if MM is working with the new iTunes I will just update and see what happens.
Re: Guide to iPod syncing
i have a very importent question.
i use mm gold 3.2.0.1294
itunes 8.2.1.6 (because the newer version do problems with jailbreake iphone)
iphone 3g with version 3.1.2
i used mm because the lyricator script (even rewrite it to support hebrew, if someone want it you can send me a message).
after i sync with mm all the lyrics apear in iphone, but after i sync with itunes all the lyrics gone..
(i dont even have songs in itunes, and of course the manually manage music is check).
the itunes doesn't touch the songs it self, just delete my lyrics (maybe also the art album, didn't check it yet).
the lyircs is the reason i use mm and itunes just delete them.
btw i follow your guide and the "Force iTunes style folders" doesn't existing im my mm (maybe because it's newwr version?)
and the last question, maybe you know script to search and add album art for a lot of songs at once?
(now i need to do auto tag from web manually for every song i have).

That is only in the "iPod" plugin, iPhone doesn't have that option (it is forced).i used mm because the lyricator script (even rewrite it to support hebrew, if someone want it you can send me a message).
