Thanks gab, but I'm registered as well with anapod explorer and it does not support the new classics yet, I'm using the ipod nano 8gb 3g and the ipod classic 160gb.gab wrote:fabman - if you don't want to use itunes, you could try another application to sync videos and photos. i've used anapod explorer and it works pretty well
iPod Classic support - You can test it!

The problem of erased artwork will be fixed in the next release. Just a note to those complaining: Don't blame us of these issues, it's Apple who doesn't release any specifications about iPod. This problem was entirely caused by iTunes - it simply erases artwork of tracks in some cases. Now we understand the issue better and it seems to be fully fixed.

I wasn't blaming anyone, we all know that it's a problem with the lousy iTunes, I was just stating that right now, the mediamonkey it's useless as a "media" monkey ( not mediamonkey's fault but apple's ), and there's no other choice but to use just iTunes, I like it or not.jiri wrote:The problem of erased artwork will be fixed in the next release. playing songs off iPod?
anybody else have this problem with mm3? -> if I play songs off of my 3rd gen iPod nano when it's connected, it sounds all stuttery and weird and choppy...
but playing songs off my hard disk is just fine...

play count
oh one more thing I wanted to add...the "Play Count" for songs doesn't seem to work in MM3...it always remains at 0, no matter how many times the song gets played.
Hi Jiri,
I just found another little bug with my ipod classic 160 GB:
On newer ipods (I think >=Video and all nanos) there is a feature called quick scroll which works like this: If a particular list—the Songs list, for example—has a lot items, as you begin to scroll through the list, a small, translucent overlay appears on the screen containing the first letter or character of the current section of items. So then you can scroll quickly between the different letters.
But when I use MediaMonkey to sync it doesn't work correctly as it always shows a 'T' if there's an artist like "The Ataris". So when I scroll down instead of "A-->B-->C..." it shows "A-->T-->A-->T--->B...". As I configured MM also to ignore 'die' (german for 'the') when sorting also the "D" shows up from time to time.
Do you understand what I mean?
Wish you a nice weekend!

hey, i am having some issues with playback on my 160gb classic
some tracks will play the first few seconds (sometimes up to 30, sometimes 3) and then skip to the next song.
these songs play perfectly on my computer, and play perfectly when playing thru mm3 off my ipod.
i have tried to skip past these points where it skips, to see if it will play properly. it will actually play about 3 seconds and then skip ahead. the times show up properly.
any help?

I am experiencing the same thing. I used Mediamonkey with my old Video Ipod (80GB) and this feature was gone completely. I did not even know that it existed.
Now with the new 160GB ipod Classic it works, but not as expected...
I have got three other problems:
1.) When i go to "Music" - "Artist" my Ipod hangs and after a while goes back to the "now playing" screen.
2.) When synchronising with MM after a random number of songs an error message comes up that says something like: Cannot write to F:\iPod_Control\Music\F04 - It seems like this is happening not after a particular number of songs. Sometimes at 3000 songs, sometimes after 8000 songs. I have never managed to synchronise my whole 94GB in one go. Always had to rebuilt the database (which messes up the artwork sometimes)
3.) the new 160GB ipod makes quite a noticable clicking sound from time to time. Anyone else experiencing that? My 80GB ipod did not do that. Is my harddrive maybe faulty?
Not sure whether these things are iPod related or MM related.
rgds,

to test, i have removed one of the songs added it again. same problem.it aint that serious wrote:i have also rebuilt the database to no availit aint that serious wrote:hey, i am having some issues with playback on my 160gb classic

My ipod also makes these clicking sounds when accessing the harddrive. I think thats normal.kuck wrote:

Does anybody know when the video problem will be fixed? Or is there a fix or workaround for this already? Having 160GB diskspace and no possibility to use the videofunction is really frustrating.
