I have a similar problem with iTunes doing something to the iPhones database that I have been telling you about for at least 2 weeks. I have not seen any acknowledgment about this problem, which could be the same as etheriau's....

Check out my posts under the title of My iPhone/iTunes/MM Experience...

Oh, and how can you say there are no known issues? MM is not handling the iPhones downloaded songs/video's, and you do have a Mantis problem raised for this. Maybe, just maybe, all these issues are related as MM is obviously not aware of the iPhone's database 100%.

Yes, I mean only issues that we are able to reproduce or have some other means of analyzing - like a useful debug log or so. There are certainly other reports here in forum, some of which certainly _might_ be bugs in MM.

Ok, I forgot about this one, but this issue has always been there. We will try to resolve it soon anyway...

I think that it has been written here many times, but all about iPod/iPhone is completely undocumented and even often intentionally hidden/complicated by Apple. We try to do our best, but there can always be something...

I want to help. Tell me me what I can do... (debug logs, files off my iPhone, original MP3's?) ...that will get my play position problem in Mantis? ...see my iPhone/iTunes/MM topic for my workings so far...

I know that, and am happy with what I have today.. I can work around the issue I do have ... but I am also trying to do what I can to help make it better.

I am not sure if it has been brought up, I noticed now when I sync my iphone (3.1.2) with MM it syncs and MM sees the songs on the phone. However if I go into ipod app on phone it says there is no music on my phone.
If I them open itunes and let the establish connection itunes sees the music on my phone as well. After itunes connects to the phone the songs can now be seen in the ipod app.

Do you use the latest MM beta version (1272)? It works fine there.

I tried the new iphone.dll provided by JIRI with my 1267 version and looks like the problem I was having is fixed!!!! I can go in Itunes, do a sync, come back in MM and all my songs show up. Great work Anubis in providing Jiri the info on what the problem was so he could fix it!!!

For more info go check Anubis' post: iPhone/iTunes/MM experience

Hello,
I am trying to get the latest beta to sync with my iPhone 3gs 3.1. I can see the iphone and see the songs stored there, but if I select songs in MM and do "send to iPhone" the iphone does a quick "Sync in progress" but stops immediately. So adding songs does not work but removing them does work?

Do you really have the latest beta build? If so, you can try to generate a debug log and e-mail it to me.

I'm very sorry, I'm an idiot. I tested on a very small subset of my music collection and in DebugView I saw that the files I used for testing were flac and ogg files, sigh. Since in an earlier test of MM I got an error (that is: a notice that I should buy the gold version) when I tried to send music in unsupported format I did not check 8-(
I did it again with mp3's and it works, of course.

Sorry again.

Hi all,

I´ve read several topics and tried the solution to the iphone 3.1 issue but i have had no positive results yet.

This is what i have done:
I installed the 3.1.2.1276 mediamonkey with the d_iPhone.dll i downloaded from the very first post in this topic.

This is what i got:
Mediamonkey doesnt recognize the existance of my iphone 3G firmware 3.1 it doesnt show up in MM.

Am I missing something?
I dont have itunes installed right now (because of the problem between MM and iTunes 9... i know that is resolved now but i felt cleaner without it installed  ) and Im using Vista.

any help will be appreciated.

iTunes must be installed in order for MM to recognize the device.

Unfortunately iTunes is still necessary.

How do you back up your iPhone/Touch with no iTunes installed? You also can't add photos and videos without it.
