Thank you so much for the updates! MM is basically perfect now! Well, if I could wirelessly sync then it would be anyway.

Beautiful. So that's why they launched this feature (I definitely made the right choice to buy PlayerPro)! Thank you very much for your help and for this awesome script!Aff wrote:I've been in contact with the author of Player Pro and in very short time he kindly put a new version on the Android market now where you can set the rating system to use MediaMonkey's scale (Music library > rating system)!!Aff wrote:PlayerPro interprets the star values not exactly the same as MM, see e.g.http://www.aplayerpro.com/forum/viewtop ... 281&p=3317 and http://www.aplayerpro.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=866.elton.sucek wrote:I'm having a strange little problem, when I syncback some ratings it appears different in MM, for example, some songs I rate as 1 star in playerpro, appears as 1,5 star in MM, after syncback.
Possibly I'll add an option to correct this in a next version.![]()
I think MM should hire you ASAP (if you're not from their staff already
Re: Sync back ratings & play counts (MSC) v1.3 2012-02-19
Does this mean that PlayerPro now supports half star ratings?
Re: Sync back ratings & play counts (MSC) v1.3 2012-02-19
No, only "full" stars.
But now it have an option to choose wich rating system you want to use: PlayerPro, WMP, Winamp and MM.

Re: Sync back ratings & play counts (MSC) v1.3 2012-02-19
I can not seem to get this script to work correctly at all. PLS help..
I really am not interested in the syncing of rating, as I use Big Bennie's rating script, but play count is important and that is what I want to get synced back to MM and get added. Then BB script will adjust the ratings.
Here is the procedure I am following and how I have the device and MM setup.
I am using a Samsung Galaxy S rooted to SC 3
Window XP, with MM4 ver: 4.03.1476
1. I have synced songs to the phone, and then have listened to them.
2. Go into ProPlayer (using song bird and MM options) and export stats. This is creating the xml file on the phone. I can see it using windows explorer when the phone is connected.
3. connect phone to PC.
4. go to tools, and sync back ratings.
5. MM seems to do its thing. but when it is done says gives the error that "no song have been changed" or words to that effect.
What is wrong?
Thanks,
/Jeff

Have you activated play count syncing?
In MM, go to Tools, Options, Portable/Audio Devices, SyncBackRatings and enable "Sync back play count from PlayerPro on Android (Songbird format)"

Sorry forgot to tell you want my settings are.
I do have that checked, but not not the other option. "Don't sync back ratings for tracks with file mod newer on the PC than the device."
time out is 120 seconds.

Maybe you have played the songs in MM before? The script doesn't change the counter if it is the same or higher in MM. So, if you have played it before e.g. twice in MM, then once in PlayerPro, nothing will be changed.
Please check with a song that you never have listened to in MM.
I plan to change this in a next version to add up the counters.

Aff!
You are my HERO!!!
Thank you so very much, I thought I would have to wait for a MediaMonkey player before this was fixed
Really appreciate your effort

Re: Sync back ratings & play counts (MSC) v1.3 2012-02-19
I'm really excited about the potential of this script, but my phone--Galaxy Nexus--doesn't support USB Mass Storage mode, only MTP. And in fact, all future Android phones without removable storage will not support UMS. Any chance of working around this obstacle in a future version?
Re: Sync back ratings & play counts (MSC) v1.3 2012-02-19
You can't see any ratings on your Nexus with MTP, can you?
As an alternative I could import the ratings from the PlayerPro XML as well, but I'd have to check if the file is accessible via script. If yes, maybe I'll implement an option in a next version.
Edit:
Unfortunately I haven't found any possibility to access MTP directly via VB script. Sorry, no chance of supporting MTP.

Re: Sync back ratings & play counts (MSC) v1.3 2012-02-19
I am not sure if this of any use to anyone but I have been searching for a way to edit the playcount / ratings in Player Pro. I wanted to do this because I accidentally left Player Pro playing Josh T Pearson's 'Last of the Country Gentlemen' (not bad btw) overnight and the playcounts were all up to 14 or 15. Not a huge deal but I would prefer the playcount to reflect how many times I actually listened to it.
Solution:
Export music stats in Songbird format.
Copy the exported file from /sdcard/PlayerPro/Stats folder to PC for editing.
Edit the file in an XML editor (I used MS Word).
Save the file as SB_RatingFile.XML.
Copy the saved file back to /sdcard/PlayerPro/Stats folder.
Import music stats in Player Pro from 'External library'.
The playcounts will have now been reset to whatever they were edited to.

Hi,
I can't seem to update my skip counts with v1.3 from playerpro on android
the xml contains:
and after sync, the playcount has been recorded, but the skip count reads 0 in MM4? Any ideas...?

Please install SyncBackRatings_Debug.mmip which creates a SyncBackRatings.log file in your temporary directory (usually C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Temp). You can start SyncBackRatings again and send me a PM with the content of the log file.

Re: Sync back ratings & play counts (MSC) v1.3 2012-02-19
As syncing with the current version of Android isn't an automatic option, would it be possible to modify the script so that we could change the expected directory from the phone to c:\ or something definable?
Thanks,
Buddy
