MediaMonkey 2.3 big wish
Here is a question. Now MM 2.2 is almost ready I'd like to start thinking about MM 2.3. I'm wondering what you all like to see in MM 2.3 more than anything else.
This survey has limited options, let your one wish you want to see in 2.3 behind in this topic. And if you select portable player please leave a note on which.
Edit: Apparently something has gone wrong and the poll got deleted, sorry for the inconvenience. And now everything is double, sorry.

Hi,
As for me, i would appreciate with MM2.3:
- cover art
- customisation of tree explorer
- customisation of current track's tooltip (tray)
Added after editing the intial post:
Would it be possible for MM to support either "folder shortcuts" or "favorite locations"? (actually i listen to lot of tracks before adding them or not to my collection, so MM often plays from the 'My comp' node and it takes time to go to the right location c:/tmp/music/rock/.../...).

My vote
1. Data Cd /dvd writing support from within MM
2. Interractive style Virtual cd.
Automatically find songs that are copied outside MM to a specific folder
(songs that are arleady in the database) and add them to Virtual cd.
Example : songs that belongs to various mp3 cds and copied manually
to a folder/subfolders in the hard drive.
3. Export all the playlists at once with a single command
for use with a dj mixing software.

Big wish "Party mode"
Hi,
my one big wish is the party mode - just having an option that prevent
me and others from accidentally starting tracks while browsing the archive.
BTW, if you feel like introducing this, I'd be happy to write a very long post about what I think a party mode should do or not to give you something you can start a discussion on.

I would like to see just a little better CD burning control: A) In addition to changing the order of songs, deletion of songs in albums or playlists that exceed the limit (warning?) B) Removal of 2 second gaps. C) Data only (MP3) burning capability (least important, we can go directly to Nero for that if it is more difficult to implement). Thanks...and MM 2.2 is awesome!
I'd like to weigh in with a vote against adding fancy portable handling/cd burning/cd ripping functionality. This is a really great cataloger/jukebox and, bear with me, I want to see it grow like google and not like yahoo/lycos/excite/.......
That said, I guess it makes sense to keep users happy, and they want what they want.
As for me:
-I would like to be able to write my own queries for the autoplaylists (return a list of songid's, maybe).
-I'd like some reporting capabilities, perhaps shown on a welcome screen for the app. I would also like to add my own queries to this report.
-I'd like the columns shown in the track listing to be customizable at a finer granularity. For example, if I'm viewing songs from one artist, I don't need the artist column included, but if I navigate up to all artists, it makes sense to have the artist column.
Anyway, mediamonkey is really great already. Thanks for the program.

Users rights (re post)
Hi,
first of all : You do a WONDEFULL job on MM !
MM is realy the best
here is my wish :
It would be nice to have user identification.
Some users with administrativ rights (Add files, edit tag, delete files, move files, ...)
And normal users (create play list, edit there own playlist, ...)
in my dreams, i saw :
- A login prompt at MM startup (or even more, no prompt but using NT Authority)
- A window with user management (creat user, edit password, edit rights,...)
- A window with check boxs for each rights.
eg :
User : Administrator (combo)
X File editor
. --> X Add files
. --> X Delete Files
. --> X Rename files
. --> X Move files
X Edit Tag
X All playlist editor
X Create virtual CD
X Burn CD
...
...
But Users template would be nice to.
eg : Admin , user+, user
Thank's
David

thinking of
:
- cover/jpg integration ( ID3v2)
- CD-cover-printing ( I use ...shame on me....MediaJukebox for this, because it's really nice for this ( automatic covers from tags, List of all titles )
....BUT still: MM is today "first choice" because of the fast database and
good search routine and nice, logic menu-tree

Multiple databases. This way you could have 1 database of All the music you like, and another database to store new music that you have downloaded and want to sample before you add them to your main database.
look up mp3 tags from the internet.
Easy way to play all files in database. ( maybe right click on Artist/Title/Location/etc and have an option to play all there )
Drag and drop from windows into media monkey.

Import Playlist
I'd love to be able to import an m3u playlist as easily as I can export it.
