MM 3.0 Alpha 8 - Artist View problem

Post by aprzybylo »

This was working fine in all previous builds. Now if you select to browse by artist you don't see + signs in front to expand albums. You have to double click to expand and see all albums. But also before when artist was selected all songs of this artist were shown. Now you can't see any song unless you select one album. This way you can never see a song that has album field not set.

I still get a + in front of the artists who have albums where they are Album Artists. And all their tracks are shown when I select these artists.

But the artists which are only on Various Artist albums have empty nodes (together with all the Composer nodes, which are also empty....) So the Artist & AlbumArtist node is rather useless at the moment.

But the TrackBrowser is still OK :)

@aprzybylo

try doing a clean install or changing the name of the MM DataBase...Alpha8 is known to have problems when updating DB from A7

I totally Agree. The artist & Album Artist node is cluttered now. I have tons of composers I've never even heard of before which I honestly don't really care about. Also, When I click on the composers, nothing shows up. I've tried all the different views.

I'm getting the same. All of the composers are displayed under the Artist and Album Artist section. I hope this gets fixed ASAP. Until then, I'm going back to Alpha 7.

Guys/Gals, go to TOOLS then OPTIONS then LIBRARY then FILTERS AND VIEWS then click NONE then CONFIGURE.

You should have all the options to configure the tree just like a7. Well most will like to browse their artist via "album artist". Just mess around in there till you configure it to your liking.

Don't you just love MM, FULLY configurable.

OK. If you have Gold.... If not, A7 is probably a better choice

EDIT: I was wrong. After I rescanned the library and deleted the TweakMonkey script it is all working. Now the Artists & AlbumArtists node is gone! :) :)

And there is no + in front of artists with album subnodes until I click on them...

Default View settings will be available for all users (not only for gold).

Gold is so you can create YOUR OWN filters.

I managed to get rid of the composers by deleting the old datebase and making a new install.

Unfortunately the database started to crash after that. Looks like alpha 7 is a bit more stable - at least on my computer...

Still doesn't make sense that it would show all of the composers in the Artist & Album Artist field by default. Who would want that? There's a composer field for the composers.

Because it's a bug and not by design...
