Minilyrics as album art viewer

Post by sn0skier »

so, minilyrics has the ability to show pictures as its background. I thought it would be really cool if somehow we could make it so it showed whatever was playing's album art as it's background picture. using minilyrics embedder, which can be found here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... cs&start=0
I think it would look pretty good.
Does anyone think this is possible?

Now playing: Annuals - Fair
via FoxyTunes
last.fm signatures don't work anymore, which is sad. Any easy replacement?

Funny We have the same idea. It would be so incredible. i'm not a scripter so I can't help you but I think you schould promote your idea to the scripters on here. Imagine The place you could save on the screen.

You will have to ask Crintsoft - the owner of Minilyrics - about that. Maybe they can provide a method to change the background image from an external script (e.g. by providing a COM object method, or a command line parameter).
Extensions: ExternalTools, ExtractFields, SongPreviewer, LinkedTracks, CleanImport, and some other scripts (Need Help with Addons > List of All Scripts).

Yeah I have actually already sent them an e-mail. If anyone else thinks this is a good idea, then you can help promote this idea by contacting crintsoft here: http://www.crintsoft.com/contactus.htm.

But are you sure there is no way to do this without help from crintsoft? It seems like you could write a scipt that would restart minilyrics on every song. Ineffecient but worth it if it's the only way.

Then as alternative to Crintsoft I think an own solution would be much better, e.g. an embedded DHTML page with album art transitions and custom album art info.

Check out the newest version of Minilyrics, its possible to show the album art as a background now! Theres a few things missing (I wish it would resize the album art, but its still very cool!)
