1177 - 'sent to' dropdown STILL broken .. is it just me??

Post by GSV3MiaC »

When I do a 'send to rip/convert' the first item in the dropdown box is selected, but the actual contents seem to be something else .. if I select the first item, nothing changes (it is still going to the wrong place);

If I select item #2, and then re-select item #1, suddenly it is working OK.
There is some sort of logic glitch where the program thinks the first item is selected (which is appears to be) but is using the filespec for some other item instead.

e.g. if item1 in the list is
c:\my docs\xyz\<title>

the 'send to' pops up with item#1 selected, but the output going to f:\ (seems to be derived from the previous list of possible destinations) instead, and no matter how often you select item #1 from the dropdown, nothing changes, unless you select another item first.

Send to dropdown broken?

GSV3MiaC,

Can you give step by step instructions for this? I can't reproduce the problem, but it's likely because I'm not sure I understand how to reproduce it.

Thx.

Rusty, in my list of 'filespecs' for 'send to, rip convert' I have things like c:\xyz\<track #> <title>. Maybe I shouldn't have any of the 'path' in there, just the <track #> <title> part, but it let me put in some path so I did. This is the list that you see at the point where you see the list of output track file names, and you can select overwrite, or new folder, etc.

If it makes any difference (I don't think it does) I am ripping/convertign FROM VCD tracks.

When I select 'send to, rip/convert' in a track, or tracks, it offers me a list of the recent destinations. I put in 'f:\', for instance. It now picks up the <track #> <title> bit from the drop down, but insists it is going to send them to f:\<track#><title> NOT c:\xyz\<track#><title>. No matter how many times you select item #1 from the dropdown box, it sticks with f:\.

Item 1 in the drop down box is selected by default. If I select item 2 (which maybe says d:\abc\<title>) the program then changes the destination correctly (and changes the filespec part as well as the path). If I THEN select item 1 in the list (c:\xyz\etc) the program NOW uses the correct destination.

Seems like it is only expecting/using the filespec part of the first dropdown item, NOT the whole path. Other dropdown items in the list it uses everything which is there (overriding the 'where to rip/convert it to' which you selected earlier).

If that's still not clear let me know and I'll send you a .ini file or something
or phone you, or whatever.

Yes, I see. I can reproduce. It is really problem only of the first item in the history drop down lists. Note: This problem occurs also on the others dialogs (like Auto-tag form filename etc.)

Oh I'm glad you can reproduce. yes it is only a problem with the first item - trouble is that the auto-ordering ensures that the first item of the dropdown list is always the last / most often used one!

This will be fixed in the next release.
