Extract Playlists from Database?

Post by Diabolic-Destiny »

My harddrive has crashed but i have managed to get it to work as an external hard drive. I have created a new database for my songs however I would like to import my playlists from my old database into my new database. (the problem i see with this is the File Location is different from the hard drives) since Old Hard Drive is Vista and new one has windows 7 (Documents location is different).

Is there any way to get the playlist out of the database or do you guys/girls think it'll be easier to just make new playlists all together?\

Thanks

Use the old DB with MM and use Tools > Scripts > Export all Playlists. After that you will need to open each in Notepad and use it's replace function to change the base portion of the file path.

If you mean about playlists stored in the database, you could try the "Restore Play History/Date Added/Playlists" add-on.

If you mean about .m3u playlists, you could try the "Export M3Us/Create Playlists for Child Nodes" add-on with its "Replace folder" option, e.g. you could replace "c:\blah\blah\" with "e:\blah\".
