I had to do some hard drive space shifting and I hastily moved a ton of my music collection *outside* of MM3.
How do I go about re-associating the greyed out tracks from my playlists to where the tracks are now? Is there a "find greyed out tracks from playlist" type add-on or am I missing this feature on the GUI? thanks

There is File > Locate Moved/Missing which might be able to find the tracks. You can find the missing tracks under the Library > Files to Edit > Dead Links node.

I should have posted I've already gotten to the dead links node, but is there a way to automatically add multiple tracks back to the playlist from here, or do I have to do this one by one from that node? Thanks

Select all files and use File > Locate Moved/Missing

Re: moved a bunch of tracks outside MM3
locate moved/missing worked for about half. I've looked in the properties of some of the tracks that are greyed out and the folders they are referenced under still exist just on a different drive letter.
Is there anything else I can do to recognize the correct location in bulk? Thanks

Not really.
There is the following if the paths are the same, but the drive is different: http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.p ... w_computer proceed with caution (make backup of DB).

you should always move files in MM.
if your just moving from one drive to another, you can use the mask
D:\<path>
or some variation of that to suit your needs

Re: moved a bunch of tracks outside MM3
I will from now on! I have an explorer replacement that has a bunch of my audio "groups" that will pop up in tabs for different genres - sub-genres. I sometimes just browse and play files from here in MM, but forgot about the moving issue...Teknojnky wrote:you should always move files in MM.

Bummer I'm going to have to add most of these back manually :/
