Double click behavior

Post by seckman »

I really like MM and have figured out that MM is very flexible in allowing one to change the behavior of double clicking on a song.

I would like to be able to preform different tasks at different times. Is there a button or script that would easily change the behavior of double clicking for different tasks? For example:

Build a songlist (add tracks to the bottom of Now Playing)
Preview a song without affecting Now Playing (a MusicMatch feature I liked)
Play a song and also the following songs

I have searched the topics, but couldn't find the right keywords.
Thanks in advance!

Build a songlist:
Select the songs you want and click "Play Last"

Preview a song:
Select the song and click "Play Now" - remove it from Now Playing after it has been played. A script could be written to do this automatically.

Play a song and following songs:
Set your double click behaviour to do this.

I am now working on a script that will allow you to preview a song. My idea is to store the current track being played, and it's position within the track. Then add the preview song to the beginning of the Now Playing list and play it. When the song has finished, the song will be removed from NP and the track that was playing before will be started from where it was. Any comments?

Wow!
Thanks for your incredibly fast reply!
I have installed the script, but have never run a script before.

So here goes nothing!

After I gave the script rights to run, it started playing.
Do I have to wait until the song is over for it to delete the song from Now Playing?

Also, is there any way to have the script run with a right click?
Thanks,
Steve

At the moment you have to wait, but the version 1.0 was only a rush job to get the ball rolling. I just wanted a version people could comment on. psyxonova has also given me some good ideas, so look out for the next version!

I will look at adding this to the context menu (right click) as well. Let me know if you have any more suggestions by posting in the other thread.

Cheers :)
